The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body, and small, shriveled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that at any moment the wings would expand to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened.
In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.
It was never able to fly.
He did not understand that in his well-intentioned kindness he had changed the order of things. He was unaware that the restricted cocoon and the struggle required to get through the tiny opening was needed to force fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved the freedom from the cocoon.
Story Author unknown – Below is adapted as per Scripture …..
God’s blueprint in Creation always has a purpose and it’s always for good.
Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of men.
Struggle is part of a messed up world, Satan puts us to the test, we reap what we sow or others hurt us. We also need to be perfected in Love by putting our evil flesh nature to death through the empowering of The Holy Spirit as we choose to walk in Love which is The Fruit of the Spirit. This means we need to choose to do so even though we may want to take the wide easy road which has no commitment to Love God or others but it will leave us crippled. If we choose God’s guidelines we can be assured that we never walk alone.
Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”
Overcoming obstacles with the Lord’s strength in us, makes us strong not of ourselves but in His Love that offers Hope to see us through. We do not walk alone unless we choose to which means we will never fly …..
Because we can never fly alone.I needed Love…..I realised just how much I was Loved…..I encountered problems to solve and asked for God’s wisdom and I received it and I thank Him for keeping His promise.
I needed strength…..I experienced life’s difficulties and so I asked for strength to overcome and He gave it to me eternally in Jesus Christ.
I had material needs…..I was given opportunities to work and received blessings to enjoy and share.
I needed courage…..I was given Strength to overcome danger.
I needed Compassion…..I was given friends and met troubled people who I could offer Help to and they were there for me too and Jesus never left my side.
I needed encouragement …..I uplifted others in Prayer and I was encouraged by their growth and others did the same for me.
I needed to be blessed by others…..I was given opportunities to do good and in so doing I was blessed too.
I received everything I needed and also my Godly heart desires.
Romans 8:28.And we know that in all things and always God works for the good of those who Love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.
Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a Hope.
Psalm 37:4-5 Delight thyself also in the LORD and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD Trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

Anne, sometimes we mean to do right by others but we can become a hindrance, or possible cause harm. Everything has order and purpose if we just wait patiently, we will see that purpose. Had the man read on the butterfly transformation, he would have known to let it be. Though we may struggle for awhile, with God we will be set free. Amen.

Hi again Shenine, yes I agree it is not by God’s hand that we suffer as the Scriptures tell us Satan puts us to the test but God does not allow us to be tempted more then we can bear and in Jesus He provides a way out. The man was convinced he was right in what he was doing but God does not change the order of things He works within the set boundaries but will intervene Supernaturally when needed….Trust and obey for there is no other way….

That was interesting. I had no idea how or why a butterfly had to struggle to get free. Great post, thank you!

Hi Dei, thank for sharing, we can indeed learn much from God’s creation He does not cause our suffering and hardship but He does use it for good, why doesen’t He stop it, He will stop all evil soon.

Hi again Dei, I was asked about this story once… they wanted to know why God created the butterfly with the need to suffer pain God knew it would need pressure to expand it’s wings without it the Butterfly could not fly and pressure like with childbirth brings pain but in the garden of Eden, God would have provided something to reduce the pain for Eve but when they were made to leave, Eve would not have had this relief.
So why did God still create Satan knowing that he would do evil even though He didn’t create him this way, because He knew Adam and Eve would sin and if there was no pain for the wrong they did, they would keep doing it, hurting themselves others and Him, we need to be disaplined and our sinful actions will do this but so will others who sin, they hurt us and so does Satan because we live in a fallen world but how wonderful that God comforts us in all our affliction.

Thanks Ron and yes life is hard sometimes and we have troubles and Jesus said it would be so not that He would cause it or willingly allow it but that it would happen and as you have often said …wonderfully He can even use even our mistakes for good if we don’t continue in them and He strengthens and carries us through the storms and hardships of life..
