A Love That Never Lets Go

 I walked away back to decay knowing confusion and shattered dreams deceived by Satan’s evil schemes,

Feeling Peace could not be regained and leaving fear that I couldn’t restrain.

 How could a Loving God wounded by sin open His arms and let me come in forgiving and restoring me again,

Even though I caused Him untold pain by making things more important than Him and not confessing my sin.

 Seeking fulfillment in the things of this world but finding emptiness that I feared would stay and feeling a numbness that took passion away,

The passion of knowing my Lord and King repressed in futility and sin leaving me facing turmoil and strife destroying the Peace and Joy in my life.

 Yet there came Hope in this emptiness and despair a promise that God is always there,

Knowing that I would choose to be redeemed by the Son He chose me to have Unity in the Spirit and we are one,

He reaches out compassionately understanding my pain,

Then drawing me close and giving power over sin restoring Joy to my heart because of His Love from the start.

 Even in my rebellion and pride His Truth from me He did not hide,

In regret and sorrow I found no rest for I was seeking to repay but finding no way,

It was only in accepting what had already been done sacrificially given in Love by His Son then as I bowed my knees,

His wondrous Grace set me free.

 No revenge did He seek but gently He lead me to sit at His feet,

Restoring my soul in tranquility and rest giving Joy and a life that is blessed,

No punishment was given for all has been atoned and as I walk in the Spirit I no longer roam,

My life I offer with no regret for I can never repay the outstanding debt,

Trusting the Lord who has set me free for He has given me liberty.

 The Joy of knowing our Lord and King and being forgiven of my sin,

What Love is this that never lets go seeking His lost drawing them back into His arms  away from the world and its deceptive charms,

This is Gods Love given from His heart this is His Love that was there right from the start.
