John 3:16 God’s Truth shown by our Actions too…..

I Posted the  Story below in 2o12 and it was Reblogged today by Rocky ( link below)  I had received it  by e-mail  years ago. It has been viewed now by over 1,000 people on my Blog but no doubt has been seen by many others through e-mails and on the Internet too,  Rocky said he heard it in a Sermon recently.

Rocky’s link – http://rockyrojas88.wordpress.com/

So because this Story has touched so many  hearts, I thought it would be good to  Post it again for those who are new to Blogging like Rocky or  have just started following me.

As I shared with Rocky, this story reminds me that God’s Love is an Action not just words but it is also about sharing God’s Truth, we do not remain Children without understanding, we grow up and need to know His Truth, it sets us free because  it is and  will always be very powerful in breaking down Strongholds. Jesus is The Truth and The Light in the Darkness.

God tells us that in the end times that His Truth is what will defeat Satan and so he will be cast into Hell, but while ever people believe and share Satan’s lies and so deceive God’s Redeemed Children, making them weak in their Faith and so unproductive because of doubts and fears, Satan remains strong, he also deceives others so they  believe it is all about themselves and their selfish boundaries and what they want and need materially and so they don’t put others first.

They may say on judgment day, Lord, Lord but He won’t listen unless they come to heart repentance now and show they believe in Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, that He is in Spirit God with The Father and The Holy Spirit, The Godhead or Trinity as we call them today and that He has set them free to Love Him and others and to walk in Holiness, this is what it means to believe in His Name.. Love is an Action not just a Word.

Matthew 25: 42-46 Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels For I was hungry, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or a thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall He answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, In as much as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

We remember that Jesus said to the Disciples to wait until Pentecost and than with The Holy Spirits Power they were to go into all the World and share The Gospel, which is God’s Truth of His wonderful redemption in Jesus Christ.

When we are filled with The Holy Spirit we long to share God’s Good News, we don’t have to make ourselves  but don’t you think that having our Blogs are a wonderful gift so we can share with others the Eternal Hope we have and offer practical help when needed too.

I hope the Story below brings you much Joy and reassurance as it has done with me and many others.

Thanks for Listening, Christian Love from both of us – Anne.

“A young boy was selling newspapers on the corner, the people were in and out of the cold but because he was so cold he  huddled up and didn’t sell many papers .

He walked up to a policeman and said, “Mister, you wouldn’t happen to know where a poor boy could find a warm place to sleep tonight would you?

You see, I sleep in a box up around the corner there and down the alley and its awful cold in there for tonight.

Sure would be nice to have a warm place to stay.”

The policeman looked down at the little boy and said, “You go down the street to that white house and you knock on the door. When they come out the door you just say John 3:16 and they will let you in.”So he did.

He walked up the steps and knocked on the door, and a lady answered. He looked up and said,”John3:16.”

The lady said, “Come on in, Son.”

She took him in and she sat him down in a split bottom rocker in front of a great big old fireplace, and she went off.

The boy sat there for a while and thought to himself…  John 3:16… I don’t understand it, but it sure makes a cold boy warm.

Later she came back and asked him “Are you hungry?” He said, “Well, just a little. I haven’t eaten in a couple of days,  and I guess I could stand a little bit of food,”

The lady took him in the Kitchen and sat him down to a table full of wonderful food. He ate and ate until he couldn’t eat any more. Then he thought to himself

John3:16… Boy, I sure don’t understand it but it sure makes a hungry boy full.

She then took him upstairs to a bathroom to a shiny bathtub filled with warm water, and he sat there and soaked for a while.  As he soaked, he thought to himself: John3:16 …

I sure don’t understand it, but it sure makes a dirty boy clean. You know, I’ve not had a bath, a real bath, in my whole life. The only bath I ever had was when I stood in front of that big old fire hydrant as they flushed it out.

The lady came in and got him.

She took him to a room, tucked him into a big old feather bed, pulled the covers up around his neck, kissed him goodnight and turned out the lights. As he lay in the darkness and looked out the window at the snow coming down on that cold night, he thought to himself…

John3:16 … I don’t understand it but it sure makes a tired boy rest.

The next morning the lady came back up and took him down again to that same big table full of food.

After he ate, she took him back to that same big old split bottom rocker in front of the fireplace and picked up a big old Bible.

She sat down in front of him and looked into his young face. “Do you understand John 3:16?” she asked gently. He replied, “No, Ma’am, I don’t. The first time I ever heard it was last night when the policeman told me to use it,”

She opened the Bible to John3:16 and began to explain to him about Jesus. Right there, in front of that big old fireplace, he gave his heart and life to Jesus and so started his walk to find the better way as he trusts and obeys.

He sat there and thought: John3:16 I don’t understand it, but it sure makes this lost boy feel safe and contented.

When we have The Love of God  in our heart we can understand how God was willing to send His Son to die for us and why Jesus would agree to do such a thing. We may never fully  understand the agony of the Father and the Angels in Heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die…

But we know it was because of His intense Love for You and Me and all Mankind  that kept Jesus on the Cross till the end…

It sure does make life worth living!

John 3:16-18  For God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned be he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.

Our Heavenly Father, is our source of our existence. He keeps us functioning each and every day and as we seek His way we have His Victory, He does not cause us to suffer or willingly let harm come our way but He does Discipline us by letting us seek our own will and so we suffer for going  our own way. Philippians 4:13

We show by our Godly words and actions that we Love God and others even our enemies…

James 2:15-17  Suppose a Brother or a Sister  in the Lord is without clothes and daily food.  If we say  to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but we do nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by Action, is dead.Philippians 4:13

Galatians 6:9-11  Let us not become tired of doing good, for at the right time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as God gives us the opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

  1. I am lost for words my friend. In many ways, I am like that little boy and I know that so many in this world are just as lost, cold and hungry for God’s words, love and comfort. There’s the physical hunger and theirs the spiritual hunger that I think is even harder to bear. Thank you for assuring us today of God’s promise and for reminding us where our heart and faith should be. “When we have The Love of God in our heart we can understand how God was willing to send His Son to die for us and why Jesus would agree to do such a thing. We may never fully understand the agony of the Father and the Angels in Heaven as they watched Jesus suffer and die…

But we know it was because of His intense Love for You and Me and all Mankind that kept Jesus on the Cross till the end…

It sure does make life worth living!”
God bless you and your family always.

Yes it`s a really good story Anne, of the extent of Gods love, it`s a great verse of scripture ,John 3. v16, but I love the next verse ,17. ‘God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world’ I like that, for the God I know and serve, is not a condemning God. He is a God of Love, in fact He is love. He doesn`t condemn, He leaves that to Satan, he`s a master at that ;and lying!

    Blessings

    • Yes it is True Love, Jesus does not condemn , we only have to remember when He said to the woman caught in Adultery, that He didn’t condemn her but He did say to her; go and sin no more, so it must be possible to choose not to sin.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more.

Jesus also tells as as we can see below that we don’t sin when we have been Born again of God’s seed so we must put our flesh to death that causes us to sin or we condemn ourselves by the wrong we do.

1John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he “cannot ” go on sinning, because he has been Born of God.

1John 5:18-20 We know that no one who is Born of God sins; but He who was Born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.

John 8:34-36 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Romans 8: 8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
