My Tooth hurts me more than yours!

So many think they are not hurting God by their sin or even indifference, after all He is God He doesn’t feel like we do and they feel what their experiencing is much worse than anyone else, so why should they care about others suffering. Unto our own selves be True, that is what is the most important to them, their needs are what it is all about and besides they reason there are lots of others who have problems too, what are they suppose to do, care about everyone who has urgent needs.

Perhaps not but maybe just one or two!

Yes we may be hurting and our first response maybe too shut others out but this is not what God tells us to do or shows us what we must do.

On the Cross Jesus suffered greatly and even before, I don’t mean physically, yes that too but He was known as a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, He was not Happy Clappy as Hollywood and some others present and claim, He knew the hard hearts of those who would reject Him and so reject His Father and that they would suffer Eternally and it grieved Him and His Father greatly, They Love deeply and gave their all for us.

The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Isaiah 54 :5 For thy Maker is thine Husband; the Lord of hosts is His Name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall He be called.

Well now we know what God is like, yes just like Jesus, and what did Jesus do when He saw others in need, what did He do when others were hurting, did He say…..

For goodness sake don’t you see I have enough my own problems, I’m going to have to suffer greatly for you soon, I haven’t got time to worry about your insignificant problem when it’s in  comparison to mine, come on put on a Happy face, haven’t you heard Smile and the world Smiles with you cry and you cry alone!

We are part of the Body of Christ , we are to Love and care for each other, what about when we are hurting, yes we go to God and He will comfort us in His arms of Love, they may belong to John or Rick or maybe Sandra or Julie but they are still His arms or He may take away our Loneliness by asking us home for dinner, His home may belong to Bob or Pastor Phillip or perhaps the elderly woman who opens her home to those in need regardless of who they are.

We may need help physically, we are in pain, Wow He organizes a working bee to come and put our home in order and for caring woman to cook tasty and filling meals for us until we are better.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.

Matthew 11:28 – 30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one anther’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Romans 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

Philippians 2:2-4 Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same Love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Hebrews 10 24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up Love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

In one Church I belonged to, I was the Pastoral Care  Coordinator but not because of my great qualifications but because no one else at the time wanted the position and the Pastor was very busy and unable to give all the time needed to fulfill this role too.

One day I was at the Dentist, not my favorite place to be and my Mobile rang, I had forgotten to turn it off, thankfully the Dentist removed his hand from my mouth so I could answer the call. I had been helping a woman in great need, she and her daughter had Cancer and was unable to do the basics, the men in the Church were caring for her property and the woman had been cooking and cleaning for the family but her fridge had broken down and all the food would soon spoil.

I had made urgent inquires to have it fixed, and the call  was from the Electrician, he said he couldn’t repair the fridge but could replace it with a better one for $200 but he would need to know by 2pm as it was a good buy being  new and would not last long, I assured him I would let him know in time, it was 10am in the morning.

I sat there working it all out as the Dentist continued, I knew we had $120.00 in our Church Ministry Account but was still short $80.00, I quickly reasoned if I talked it over with the Minister before 2pm we may be able to raise the rest and confirm with the Electrician in time, I later discovered he had reduced the price for us, I sat back and enjoyed the rest of my Dental experience, I think Not!

I didn’t go window shopping as was my usual practice when I went to Brisbane, I didn’t even have lunch but made my way to the Station wanting to get home in time to raise the Money, I couldn’t reach the Minister on my Mobil so I started thinking of other ways to raise it.

In the Train carriage there were  only a few people, two were sitting at the back of the train and myself and a few others up front, I was praying about the Money when I was interrupted by an announcement over the loud speaker, they were informing us that the Train was blocked by a Truck on the tracks and it would take some time to remove it. What was I going to do I had no other Phone numbers with me and I couldn’t reach Ron either, well what could I do but wait like everyone else.

As I sat there, I noticed an Elderly woman looked very upset sitting across from me, I asked her what was wrong and if could I help, she said her Sister who was waiting for her would be very worried when she didn’t arrive on time. I assured her that the Station where she was to meet her Sister would let everyone know we had been held up, she thanked me but than said she had noticed I also looked worried after the announcement.

I told her all about the fridge but than said that I felt at peace now realizing that God would provide as He had done more than once before but she quickly got out her checkbook to give me the money, I told her not to worry, I wasn’t sure if she could afford it she didn’t look very affluent but while she was insisting a Woman from the back of the train came running down with the $80.00 in her hand, she said she knew the Electrician who I had mentioned by name and wanted to help.

Wow God is so good and the fridge that we were able to buy at cost, yes His gift to those in need brought more than a place to store needed food, it also brought much Joy to those who heard about His provision and also to both those woman in the Train, the elderly Lady still wanted to give me the money for those who may need help in the future.

Let’s stop right now and ask ourselves, who we can help to know God’s great Love so they may also have His deep inner Joy, believe me I flew home even before the Train was moving again.
