Christmas is a Celebration and Thanksgiving for God’s greatest Love Gift Jesus, Emanuel God with us! without Christmas there would have been no Easter or Freedom for us. Scripture clearly shows that December was the month of Jesus’ Birth (see links below) and the events surrounding His Birth show us the need to remember and to give Thanks and to Celebrate God’s greatest Love Gift .
Some of the Symbols that are used at Christmas time are in Scripture others have been chosen to remember it’s wonderful Truths. God sees our hearts, we are not judged by what Atheists and Pagans do to mess up His Special and Anointed times. We also see Christmas confirmed in His Spirit filled Carols and in other Songs of Joy and Celebration in remembering Jesus Birth.
Christmas Symbols
The most memorable of these is the Nativity, Jesus Christ Born in a Stable, Immanuel, meaning God with us.
The Fir Tree
The pure green color of the stately Fir tree called a Christmas Tree today, remains green all year round, depicting the everlasting Hope of mankind found in the Lord, all the needles point Heavenward, making it a symbol of man’s thoughts turning towards Heaven.”
The Star
The Star was the Heavenly sign of promises long ago. God promised a Saviour for the World, and the Star was the sign of the fulfillment of His promise.
The candle symbolizes that Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, and when we see His great Light we are reminded that it is He who takes the darkness away.”The Wreath
The True St. Nicholas, who they know as (Santa Claus) was not just a fairy Story and even though for some Christmas giving is all about making money, but for us it symbolizes the generosity and good will we need to feel not only during the month of December but all year because we know that it is in giving that we receive.”Holly Leaf
The holly plant represents the immortality that we find in Jesus Christ and represents the crown of thorns worn by our Saviour.
The red holly represents the blood shed by Him for our sins.”
The Gift
For God so Loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son and when we believe in Him we have life”Thanks be to God for His Wonderful Gift.”
The Wise men followed the Star and we need to do that too by following Jesus, and that when they saw Jesus the Holy Babe they bowed before Him and presented Him with Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh.
We need to always give and receive gifts in the Spirit of the Lord with Humility and Love.
The Poinsettia Flowers
The Poinsettia that flowers in winter at Christmas time is known as the Birth flower, Christmas flower, Christmas Star and the flame leaf flower and in some Countries is also called the Easter flower. The shape of the Poinsettia flower and leaves are also for us a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem which led the Wise men to Jesus. The red colored leaves symbolize the blood of Christ, and the white leaves represent His purity.
This is why Red is the Color of Christmas and is richly shown in His Creation as we see in other Christmas flowers all over the World.
Christmas Carols
The Beautiful Christmas Carols and Music we have is a Gift from God and combined with uplifting and Godly words it brings Joy to the heart of both God and man.
The Pine Cones
The Pine Cones are both Male and Female are often used in Christmas Decorations and dusted with glitter, they Symbolize the wonder of Birth, both Men and Women are needed for Conception. We remember although Jesus was conceived by The Holy Spirit, He still had the flesh of man, given through Mary, a woman chosen by God as a vessel for His Awesome Gift of Love found in Jesus.God showed by this very act that woman are to be cherished and valued and although the Beauty of a Woman comes from within, God adorns her in many gifts to help Men, and Woman do indeed sparkle when they are valued, appreciated and accepted as a Love Gift from God.
The Snowflake reminds us that even though we are many God created us all unique and there is a place in His heart that only we alone can fill, but we all have a part of uniting in Him because we became One by the Gift of His Son.The Snowman
Christmas Lights
Christmas Lights remind us that when Jesus came to earth He brought His Light into the darkness, which is His Truth and when we share His Truth we bring His Light to others as we Shine and Sparkle in the Darkness with all the Colours of the Rainbow…
Jesus is our Ark, He fulfilled the Promise and brought Freedom from Sin and the Rainbow of Love surrounds His Heavenly Throne, shining bright like an emerald. The Christmas Crackers
Christmas Crackers are fun, when pulled apart with a crack we can enjoy a small Treasure inside, a crown to wear and a joke. They remind us that Christmas is a joyful Celebration of the Treasure we have received in Jesus, God’s greatest Love Gift and one that we Cherise and the crown reminds us of what we are to aim for, as Paul told us to do. Christmas is a fun time of togetherness that brightens our lives as we share from our hearts all year.
The Candy Cane
The Candy cane represents Jesus’ Shepherds’ crook. The crook on the staff helps to bring back strayed sheep to the fold.Turned upside down it is the letter J which stands for Jesus the Great Shepherd.
The Deer
The Reindeer is very much part of Christmas it pulls the Sleigh in the right direction. The Deer in Scripture reminds us that we are to seek The Lord wholeheartedly Trusting in Him to lead the way in our Lives but not just at Christmas, all year. (Psalm 42:1-2)
The Lighted Cottage
We remember when we see the lighted Cottages that Jesus is preparing a Mansion for us but unlike our Cottages its not made with bricks and mortar, we are being conformed into His image and so we will walk as He walked and think as He does, we will shine in the Darkness as we reflect His Light.
.
Yule Log
Although there are negative stories about the Yule Log, for us who believe it reminds us of God’s Protection and Care as we Trust in Him not just at Christmas but throughout the year, not letting the fire burn low or go out by becoming an ember that goes cold but giving continual Thanks and Praise to God from the heart with His passion and zeal.
.
The Pomegranate
The Pomegranate fruit is often seen in decorations at Christmas, they have an abundance of seeds, which is a symbol of fruitfulness and New life and for us this is Spiritually through Jesus whose birth we celebrate at Christmas. The Scriptures refer to Pomegranates in connection to the Tabernacle and they are often mentioned in the Song of Solomon.Coloured Christmas Balls
These balls represent the Colours of Christmas in varying shades and patterns…
Red is the Colour of Salvation found only in Christ Jesus Blueis the Colour of Hope Eternal
Silver and Gold is the Treasure we have in Jesus God’s SonYellow is the bright Morning Star who fills our heartsPurple is the Royalty that we have in unity with Christ Jesus
Green is the Heavenly hue that proclaims God’s Truth found in Creation which glorifies and worships the Creator. The Mistletoe
The Mistletoe is part of God’s Creation and all He made was good even if used wrongly by man.For us it symbolizes Emotional and Physical Love, we all need hugs and kisses given in Love to show we care just as Jesus does, He draws us close in His arms and we are protected and comforted and He sends kisses in the beauty of His creation which whispers His words of Love to us.
The Christmas Stockings
The Stockings that are used to store our Christmas Treasures reminds us to
store up Treasures in Heaven, like showing kindness which is part of Love and which Christmas is all about.
When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts He fills us with His eternal food and His life-giving water, and together with all our Brothers and Sisters in the family of God we rejoice and give thanks as we Love and care for each other.”
.
The Gingerbread Man
The spices that bring to mind those mentioned in the Old Testament, make the Gingerbread Man the colour of earth and Adam was created from the dust of the earth and we were created by God and for God and until we seek Him with all our heart, we do not have real eternal substance, we can crumble just like the Gingerbread Man.Jesus came to show us the way to The Father and when we know Him we know The Father. Then we are spiced wonderfully with Eternal Love, Joy, Peace and Hope as we rest in Jesus.”The Angels
“Share with the Children that it was the Angels that Heralded in the glorious news of the Saviour’s birth… And as they sang ‘Glory to God in the highest, on earth Peace and Good will toward men a great light brightened the night and so today Jesus is our Light in the darkness.”The Bells
The lost sheep are found by the sound of the bell, The Lord Jesus rings out a message of Hope as He brings us into the fold under His Love and protection. The bell symbolizes guidance and return.”
The Trumpet
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For The LORD Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel and with the Trumpet of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the Clouds to meet the Lord in the Air and so shall we ever be with the LORD. Wherefore Comfort one another with these Words.
The Dove of Peace Heralds the wonderful Love, Hope, Peace and Joy that we have in the Lord now and Eternally.
No matter what we use to symbolize Jesus Christ’s Birth or how we celebrate the True meaning of Christmas …It will always be what’s is in our heart that matters, and that Jesus’ Love is shared everyday of the year and everywhere.
Jesus’ Birthday
Just has God planned every detail of Creation so He planned Jesus Birth, nothing was left to chance it was exactly how He wanted it and He recorded everything in the Scriptures for those who have eyes to see.
On Christmas Night when Jesus was Born there was a great Celebration in Heaven and great was the News for all Mankind…
It was Proclaiming Emanuel meaning God was now with us… Let’s not stop giving Thanks and rejoicing for God’s wondrous Gift of Love and Mercy which is never ending in Christ Jesus.

First and foremost of all is the remembrance of Jesus birth.. and Christmas has always been a time with family and the love that we share. Growing up in a family of 10 of us, it was usually a large group! Diane

Wow it sure is a big family but how wonderful Diane that you are close and Love each other and that Christmas was always a remembrance of Jesus Birth for you and not just a Holiday.
I never had a permanent family after Dad died, I was Fostered a few times and than Adopted but I was never really accepted by my new brothers and sisters, there was a lot of jealously and lots of fights and I ran away more than once, my new Mum was an Atheist and we were told Jesus was just made up and we evolved from Apes, so I lost Jesus my best friend too but He never let me go as you can see.
Many Blessings – Anne.

Annie, your post was jam-packed with wonderful truths to keep our Christmas focus on Jesus! Picking just one area to respond to… the symbol of deer always reminds me of a particular scripture. Psalm 42:1 – “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.” That’s the type of faith I want to have and to constantly cultivate. Thanks for the tangible reminders of how to do that on Christmas morning. Love to you Annie.

I’m also looking forward Debbie to sharing again through Blogging the Joy of being One in Christ Jesus, of knowing His presence and Peace even when life brings problems.
As we know Debbie all Prophecy before The Rapture has not yet been fulfilled and Jesus will not return until they have been but they are in the early stages so we need to keep watching for them to unfold as He told us to, many will be caught unawares because they haven’t watched for the end times signs, we need to let others know so they will do so, yes I will Post soon.
Many Blessings dear friend for the New year – Annie.

We don’t know the time of Jesus’ return, but we are to be prepared. Let’s spur each other on in 2017! Hebrews 10:23-24, “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”

Jesus will not come to us Debbie like a thief in the night as it will seem to others, we will know when He will return as the Scripture below confirms, I will post about this Truth soon but as you shared we need to be prepared and also watch for the signs He told us to watch for, some of which are evident now and some soon will be.
1Thessalonians 5 :2 -6 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say Peace and safety then sudden destruction cometh upon them as travail upon a woman with child and they shall not escape. But ye brethren are not in darkness that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of Light and the Children of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep as do others but let us watch and be sober.

Anne, My dear friend, this is one of the most beautiful Christmas posts I’ve read to date. It not only reminds us of what we learned at an early age before we thought the meaning of Christmas had to become so very complicated. I hope you don’t mind but I would like to print off your blog and have it for easy reference in working with young and old alike. For many, it’s easy to forget why we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and you’ve laid it out in simple, relatable and understandable ways.
Each time I scrolled down to the next section, I was amazed by the tools you shared to further explain how all the joys of Christmas are all available for us to remember the birth of Christ and the real reason we rejoice in the birth of our Savior. With love, gentle hugs and loads of love, Sheri

Emanuel meaning God with us, the most wonderful assurance in our hearts that we can ever have is knowing God is for us not against us, that His Plans for us are very good and regardless of what life brings to us that He is with us helping us endure and to be Victorious.
