Would you have said Yes ?

schoolAuthor Mary Southerland…..

Situational ethics is now being taught in many of our Public Schools. One Teacher, wanting to illustrate that human reasoning is many times wrong, gave the following situation to a class of High School Students…

“How would you advise a Mother who was pregnant with her fifth Child based on the following facts. Her Husband had Syphilis and she had Tuberculosis. Their first Child was born blind, the second Child died. Their third Child was born deaf while their fourth Child had tuberculosis. The Mother is considering an Abortion. Would you advise her to have one?”

In view of these facts, most of the Students agreed that the Mother should have an Abortion. The Teacher then announced, “If you said ‘yes’, you would have just killed the great Composer, Ludwig von Beethoven.”

beethoven.

You and I were created as a living, fleshed out depiction of God’s Love. We can celebrate His precious Truth in….

scriptures

Psalm 139:14-16, “I praise Thee for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvellous are they works and that my Soul knoweth right well.” My substance was not hid from Thee when I was made in secret and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance yet being unperfected and in Thy book all my members were written which in continuance were fashioned when as yet there was none of them.”(K.J.V )

Just think of it! God Himself supervised our formation. We were created in Love for Love, with a specific and Holy purpose in mind. We can rejoice with the Psalmist who wrote…

“Know ye that The LORD is God. it is He that hath made us and not we ourselves, we are His people and the sheep of His pasture and we belong to Him. Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with Praise, be Thankful unto Him and bless His name For The LORD IS GOOD, His Mercy is Everlasting and His Truth endureth to all Generations (Psalm 100: 3-5 KJV)

Many of us buy into the lie that we are a puppet in the hands of God that He created us as mere tools to use or slaves to do His bidding and carry out His plan. In this verse, “LORD” literally means “Father” or “dearest Daddy”, indicating an intimate relationship between a Loving Father and His Child.

God undoubtedly has plans for us but we misunderstand the Character and Heart of God when we assume that those plans are a punishment or penalty for not being good enough or having done something wrong. Jeremiah being led by The Spirit understood the heart of God toward His Children when he wrote…

“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith The Lord, thoughts of Peace and not of evil to give you an expected end” KJV.

The best plan, the highest Plan for our lives rests in the hands of the One who Created us.

When our lives are broken, when the plan falls apart and everything goes wrong, we need to wait on God, knowing He created us, knows us best and Loves us most…knowing we are chosen.

Let’s Pray…..

Praying

Father, I don’t fully understand Your Love but I Thank You for creating me, choosing me and continuing to Love me…just as I am. Your Love calls me up higher, fills my heart with dreams and strengthens me for each day. I praise You, Father. Amen.

Now it’s your turn…..

How has God’s Love changed you?
Do you really believe God Loves you unconditionally?
In what ways does God’s Love and acceptance in your life affect your relationships?

Write a Thank-you letter to God and keep it in your Bible. Be sure to include parts of  (Psalm 139.)  When you are tempted to condemn yourself, remember that God doesn’t. Read the letter and celebrate again, how very much you are loved and chosen by God.

If there is one area of my life that has been a vulnerable target for the enemy, it is this area believing God Loves me unconditionally believing God chose me and has a special plan for my life learning to see myself in His eyes.

While I have come a long way on this part of my journey, there are days when I wonder if I have made any progress at all. Then I remember and review the Truths of Psalm 139 and find strength for the day. I pray the same for you, friend. Know we are with you and praying for you. Blessings!

If this was a real classroom discussion, I’m pleasantly surprised the teacher pointed out the devastating loss that would have robbed this world of one of the greatest composers. The thing is, the children who were born with issues were just as important and the one that died at least had a chance. Great post.

    • Very True Joanna, regardless of how small or imperfect a baby is they are still a Human Being with the breath of life and so have a right to live and yes this is a True account.

I was Born with my disabilities, if they had Ultrasound than I would have been deleted for sure and even though I’m not famous and I have had much heartache and suffering in my life, some of which I have caused myself, I’m still grateful that I had a chance to live, even in regards to Blogging regardless of the problems I have encountered, I have still had much Joy too and have learnt a lot, which has been very helpful.

Thank you again – Blessings – Anne.

        • It was good Joanna to read your Post Message last night, you must be relieved and Thankful that your Writers Block is over, you do indeed have an active life, how blessed you are and your family too.

Yes for one thing and of course there has been others, if I had been Aborted I would not have met you Joanna and any of my other Blogging friends that I have made over the years and I have had a lot of Joy in knowing you and them too.

Amazingly I was the first Woman in Australia to have a Ultrasound for Pregnancy, so I’m not against it, at the time they did use it for other things too as they do today. They were trying to save one of my Babies with the others being Stillborn or loosing them during gestation but sadly it was not to be as she had already died like the others with no known reason, that is apart from the first one which was Aborted when I was very young and pressured into it.

Perhaps with what they know today I would have had a healthy Baby but I do have Joy in knowing now that my 7 Children are in Heaven and we will be united one day, a Hope that I never had as a deceived Atheist.

  2. My response to Mary’s Questions………

    1. How has God’s Love changed you?

I am no longer the same confused hurting Woman who always felt rejected and unloved, I now have assurance that I’m greatly Loved and cherished by my Abba Father, by my Lord and Saviour and by my Teacher and Comforter The Holy Spirit yes I will never be rejected by The Godhead and yes They too are in my Heart to stay!.

    2. Do you really believe God Loves you unconditionally?

God can be no other way HE IS LOVE, what He hates is Sin because it separates us from Him and we cannot be in close fellowship, good and evil cannot be in Unity but He does not stop Loving us and will seek to rescue us and as we come to our senses and repent He will welcome us Home because He has known us from Eternity as His own.

In what ways does God’s Love and acceptance in your life affect your relationships?

Because I know God Loves and accepts me, I offer this to others too but I do not accept the wrong they do and say, just as I don’t accept what I do wrong but I do value them all as People of worth, if Jesus died for them I have no right to reject them but I will not put myself at risk and allow their Carnal flesh to influence me and if they reject the Gospel I shake the dust off my shoes and move on, in other words, I do not force them to agree, I walk away, God does not force them either to repent and Love Him, He does not want Puppets as Mary shared. .

    • Very True Sally, Abortion is a tragedy that break God’s heart, will He forgive those who murder His Little ones, Yes, because of our Sin we murdered Jesus and He forgave us when we had True Heart Repentance, He is Merciful but all Sin still grieves Him.

I will Post my Comment again that disappeared on your Blog Post Sally, I did contact WordPress about it but they have not returned with a reason yet but as only you and WordPress Staff have access to the settings that can delete them, if you haven’t done so it would be beneficial for you to also contact them, in case it happens again with other Comments.

I think we could write a book on how God’s love has changed us! To keep if shorter, I’ll just share a few. 1) I judge people less. Acceptance replaces judgement. As a result, I enjoy people more. 2) I choose relationship over being right. Relationships are protected because I pepper them with grace and forgiveness. Hopefully, it goes both ways because I need it too! 3) Priorities on people. I love my downtime to relax and focus on my projects. That said, I try to be more flexible to love on other people.

I look forward to hearing what others have to say! Blessings to you Annie!
