I would like to share with you the dangers of the Lyrics in Songs that you have probably heard over the years or are still hearing today and new Songs too that also propagate evil but I will mainly be looking at the foundation that I had in my younger years that has encouraged what we hear that is wrong today being accepted even by Christians. Opera was something I enjoyed and still do but some of it’s Lyrics are also evil and so are not acceptable just because it is Opera does not make them so.
We need to be aware that what we hear, read or see is stored in our Subconscious Mind and if it’s not good it can be instrumental in causing many problems, this is why God tells us to focus on what is good not evil, as the Scripture below confirms.
Philippians 4:6-8 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. K.J.V
Before I share with you some examples of the evil in Song Lyrics, I would like us to confirm in our hearts again through Scripture what God’s will is for us in regards to all Music and to understand that He inspires His worship in Songs but to also be warned that so does Satan with his evil intentions.
Ephesians 5:18-20 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;(KJV)
Colossians 3: 16-17 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving Thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Psalm 95:1-3 O come, let us sing unto the LORD let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with Psalms. For The LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.(KJV)
Psalm 98:4-5 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the LORD with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.(KJV)
Psalm 100:1-3 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before His presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.(KJV)
Many of you who knew the Beatles will remember this Song below no doubt it was in and out of many Cassette players and it is still being listened to today but it’s message is saying although sugar-coated, if we reject Heaven, meaning God and Hell too, meaning Satan, as a reality and just live for today, than we are doing something commendable for the World, this is just Atheists propaganda.
Imagine
Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people living for today
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.(KJV)
The Song below would indeed encourage us to look forward to a Special night of entertainment at a Disco or Party, Wow I think I would be planning a early night instead.
Somebody’s gonna hurt someone
before the night is through
Somebody’s gonna come undone
There’s nothin’ we can do
Everybody wants to touch somebody
If it takes all night
Everybody wants to take a little chance
Make it come out night.
There’s gonna be a heartache tonight
A heartache tonight, I know
There’s gonna be a heartache tonight
A heartache tonight, I know
Lord, I know.
Now for some Karaoke, I have just listed a few verses to condense but you can Google it yourself or you may already know it but believe me it is best deleted.
“Bohemian Rhapsody”
Released 31st October, 1975 – Spent 17 weeks on chart (9 at number 1). Went Platinum. First song ever to take advantage of a promotional video. Re-released 9th December, 1991. Entered charts at number 1.
“Bismillah” which is mentioned a few times in the rest of the song, as are the others below is the opening word in the Qu’ran (Koran) and literally means “In the name of Allah.”
“Scaramouch” according to the dictionary means “a stock character who appears as a boastful coward.”
“Beelzebub” is one of the many names given to “The Devil.”
Lyrics
Is this the real life?
Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide
No escape from reality
Open your eyes
Look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I’m easy come, easy go
A little high, little low
Anyway the wind blows, doesn’t really matter to me, to me
Mama, just killed a man
Put a gun against his head
Pulled my trigger, now he’s dead
Mama, life had just begun
But now I’ve gone and thrown it all away
Mama, ooo
Didn’t mean to make you cry
If I’m not back again this time tomorrow
Carry on, carry on, as if nothing really matters
Too late, my time has come
Sends shivers down my spine
Body’s aching all the time
Goodbye everybody – I’ve got to go
Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth
Mama, ooo – (anyway the wind blows)
I don’t want to die
I sometimes wish I’d never been born at all
God tells us not to accept or call good what He calls evil and He tells us that Satan is the father of lies, the Link below also shares a Song that propagated evil too and is listened to by Children as young as 8 years old today but sadly there are many more.
The Lyrics are very evil in this Song, see verse below, rest of verses on link – https://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2014/02/01/rubbish-in-rubbish-out/

This is Ron’s Comment on this Song…..
Yes its true some of the rubbish that`s portrayed as Music, is really worrying, years ago songs didn’t feature such sadism and hate and cruelty . They are devoid of all normal senses of relationships and interaction and fine feelings of respect and understanding of one another. It`s sad to see some of our fine young people, subjecting themselves to this mind numbing apology for Music!
Thanks
Ron
On the link below I shared the errors that sometimes result with Christian songs when others change the original lyrics.
Ron gave a good warning also about this in his comment on the link below.
Causing error in Lyrics- https://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2013/05/01/are-we-singing-in-unity-or-in-error/
I could not share with you the Evil words of the songs from the website called Rapper’s lyrics to hit songs, most were too evil – if wanted you can Google it and if not showing, than search for; chance the rapper favourite song, it is defiantly not a Joyful noise!
So let’s be careful what we accept as good in Music, just because we like the tune does not mean we should allow our minds to be polluted with the evil Lyrics… Rubbish in Rubbish out.
Colossians 3: 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving Thanks to God and the Father by Him
Thanks for sharing the dangers of Worldly Carnal Music it’s not just about our youth, we are in danger too.
Christian Love in Unity in Christ Jesus – Anne
It is precious to have fellowship together in the Lord, Anne. I’m glad that you and Ron are doing better… in spite of pain. Yes, I would be interested in knowing about that recipe.
I see it is afternoon on Saturday now. It is 12:30 a.m. here in Ohio, USA … and I think that I shall head to bed. I look forward to visiting more tomorrow.

I didn’t realize the words of Satan’s deception so prevalent in these songs. Most of the time I listen to the melody not realizing the darkness and evil in its lyrics. Thank you for making us all aware. God bless you always.

Your wise to recognize the danger now Island Traveler, some continue to minimize it and so cause themselves grief. The Suicide rate in Teenagers has tripled, many have nightmares and are very frightened, a lot use drugs, drink, sex or gamble to dull their fear but than a lot of Adults do the same and end in a bigger mess.

Yes lyrics are important in songs and yes I didn’t know the words of the Bohemian Rhapsody were to a Muslim Koran, you like the music and only listen to that and don’t take notice of what was written. Guess it goes for songs written in any genre. Good to get a warning.

Oh My Goodness, I love this Anne I really do! Yesterday I had a moment when I sat down and switched on the TV to watch a reality show then told myself why am I wanting to watch this rubbish show? Then I remembered Philippians 4 and immediately switched it off. Thank you for boldly speaking about this especially living in a country like Australia where churches are now openly playing secular music in church services and at youth meetings.

Thank you Colleen for visiting and sharing and yes it is True Secular music is being played in Churches but this is happening all over the World and in America too and so is False Teaching which will be my next message.
So good you deleted the rubbish out of your life Colleen , I often hear Christians swear and take the Lord’s Name in Vain, in other words they use it as an explanation word and not in reverence and respect, which is sadly something Americans do often but I don’t think they know what they are doing but Christian Australians do and they thankfully don’t do it themselves so error is not just with Songs and it is also the same with jokes.

I used to love classic Rock actually almost every song here was on my favorite play list at some time in my life. When I became a Christian I started actually noticing the lyrics and now 5 years later I can not listen to anything to much outside of Christian radio stations anymore because almost every song I find myself hearing something I never noticed before and knowing that God would not want me listening to that song. he Bohemian Rhapsody was a huge song from my high school days, I did not know those words actually meant anything and i just thought they were saying nothing but words they made up, I will admit I just looked up what you wrote and you are right, I really had no idea! that is not a mistake that they wrote those words, I don’t listen to that song or any of the others anymore anyway but still is good to know this stuff! Good post!

As I shared with Wally below, I liked Elvis but mostly his Songs were harmless even some were Christian. But it was a song by Anne Murry that got me thinking as an Atheist that someone Loved me (see YouTube under my reply to Wally) but it was not until after I became a Christian that I understood Who and what the words in her Song meant for me personally in my Unity with Jesus Christ.

Whenever I hear a group singing on some news clip of a concert in town or on some talk show sometimes.. we usually turn it off as it’s too loud for one thing and I can never understand the words and yet if they show an audience of young people they actually do know the words. It would be one thing if they didn’t understand and just listened to the music.. one might reason that they don’t know the words and what they suggest… but that does not seem to be the case. I can’t for the life of me understand someone writing this kind of junk… but then there will always be I guess those who do promote violence and immorality in music and on film…. Parents need to be vigilant in what their children are watching and listening to… Diane

Thank goodness you did not share for that Rapper’s whatever. I hear it on Sunday mornings blasting from cars while I’m going to church. I yelled at one guy at the stop light to turn that crap down and get Jesus. My son told me to stop yelling outta my car at people I see being ignorant because somebody was gonna get me. I told him, the Lord will probably let me run them over before they get to me. Bottom line I hate that the children of the last 15 or so years have gone downhill and parents are at fault. (Shoot me for that comment) These children are being left to raise themselves and to listen to anything. I remember when I heard the word “hell” in a song. I was dumbstruck. 🙂 I never liked those songs you posted, they were evil to me because I listen to the words people sing instead of the music.
I don’t understand how some old songs got turned into rap song with bad words. MONEY!!!!!
We just need to be in deep prayer and these parents and kids need to stop funding Hollywood.
Off to publishing!!!

That was excellent. I think sometimes we don’t think about the music we listen to and specifically the lyrics of the songs. Ironically those songs in your post all used to be in my favorite list. Here is one I think you will appreciate. At one time AC DC was my all time favorite band. One day it hit me just what some of their music was putting in my head. ..With some pain…I actually crumbled up my well loved CDs and never looked back. Well done.

Thanks Carolyn for your encouragement and kind words and yes Anne Murry is a believer and the Composer for a lot of her songs is a Christian man too.
If you listen to the words in “You Needed Me” there is no doubt that it is referring to Jesus, it is True though that He like our Abba Father does not need us, They are complete in The Godhead or Trinity as They are called today but They choose to need us … How good is that!

I thought that Anne Murray was a believer. I can’t remember if I responded to this before, but if I did … I’l repeat my thoughts… while I didn’t think of “You Needed Me” as a Christian song, I can see how it could be.
I love how you worded that: ” They are complete in the Godhead … but They chose to need us”! Amen, Sister Anne! 🙂

I just haven’t been blogging. You amaze me with how you post so often, and keep up with your many followers. I want to keep up with you whenever I get over here. I am kind of spread out … Facebook, Xanga – which I pretty much just copy between here and there, but will probably let go of when my membership runs out… and emails.
I am doing better physically now, although pain will always be a part of my life… but I am thankful to God that it is so much more manageable now than it was for so many months last year.
How is Ron doing now? I hope that he is doing well.
I’m here for the long-run. But I find a lot of hurting people in my life whom I try to encourage with Scripture, prayer, etc.
Hope you don’t give up on me, for I truly do value keeping in touch, and reading your posts when I get over here.

You never have to fear that I will give up on you Carolyn, how could I, you always bless me, your a beautiful woman within and show it both in words and actions and I’m very sure many others think so too.
Mostly people give up on me, I’m very direct and don’t scratch itching ears but I do look for what I can encourage even if correction is needed too, which I do through the confirmation of Scripture but some egos can’t handle being shown they are in error, so I’m ignored, deleted, blocked and they also slander me to others that I Blog with and some believe them without any proof or only manufactured proof but Jesus tells us we will be abused when we stand up for His Truth.
If they are not Cults, Atheists or wolves and false teachers, than it shows their childishness not meaning Babes in Christ which we all are at first but those who show they haven’t matured and are still living with the Carnal flesh. I appreciate when Christians have differences that they seek to resolve them with Scripture and not just ignore them and be rude, I do Blog with a few who do this and I respect them for doing so.
I know you suffer Carolyn and I feel for you, I too live with pain but perhaps not as bad as yours and now Ron does too but like yours it’s manageable. I use God’s Balm when needed and so I have pain relief but I have also been Miraculously healed with it too, if you would like the recipe let me know, it was a gift from God to Peter a Christian friend of ours, he shared it with me and others and many have had healing with it..
