An Australian Army Soldier stationed in Iraq with his tiny ‘plot’ of grass in a big sand box in front of his tent.
He asked his wife to send him dirt (Aussie soil), fertiliser, and some grass seed so that he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of a scissors.
It’s heart-warming!
When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the Aussie soil…
For many it reminds them of their Loved ones back home.
Sometimes we are in such a hurry that we don’t stop and think about the little things that we take for granted. Let’s say a Heartfelt Prayer remembering all the sacrifices soldiers make even just with the little things of everyday life.
It may be their Job but it is for us that they are going without, we need their willingness to be there regardless of the cost.
We may not agree with War but without it people will die through injustice and without Mercy, Dictatorship will rob them of freedom, yes we also remember to pray for our enemies. Matthew 5:43- 48.
Thanks in advance for your Prayers we will also be praying for your Soldiers.
Christian Love Always in our Unity in Christ Jesus.
Yes Anne, we need to remember our Soldiers and be thankful for what they have to give up for us, having a link that reminds them of home is important too, whatever they choose that to be, thanks for the remembrance.
Blessings
Ron

Yes Love it is important that some have remembrance of home, they often become very homesick and also for them it is harder because they know they might not go home or when they do things may have changed, they might be disabled, Children grow up, Parents die, wives become more independent and reject their leadership and friends have moved on.
War is not an easy road, some never recover from the supposed impersonal impact of killing others and seeing others killed, some like my Brother did, become Alcoholics or drug addicts and only a relatively few recover from Post Traumatic Stress disorder.
Without Faith whatever hard things life brings to us will cause bad reactions and destructive ways of handling it. But we give thanks that God helps us endure and gives us strength and empowers us to walk in Victory as we come close to Him and obey His guidelines .
Love you Ron and I always will your name is written on my heart – Anne.

I received this message by e-mail a few years ago Barb and I agree with you, who ever wrote it had a caring heart, I like to Post other peoples messages on my Blog when they share Christian values and focus on what is good, it brings Unity in the Body of Christ when people care about others and not just themselves and what interests them and as we shared even about Blogging, our fellowship with others is a two way street not just a dead end.
Thank you dear friend, you are someone I value very highly and also what you share from your heart even if not yet as much as God does but I’m aiming to be perfected in Love, even if I sometimes trip up on the laces of my running shoes.
Blessings – Anne.
