The Worry Tree…..

The Worry TreeI hired a Plumber to help me restore an old Farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient car refused to start it just kept puffing smoke.

Car 8While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

HomeWhen opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation.. His face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss and they smiled and said Hello.

Family 5Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the Tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

Tree 1Oh, that’s my Worry Tree,” he replied “I know I can’t help having troubles on the job but one thing’s for sure, those troubles don’t belong in the house with my Wife and the Children. Yes at times I do share those things that are in my heart, even those things that make me sad but the problems at work or nuisances that come my way I hang them up to solve another day and ask God to take care of them by helping me resolve them in His way.

“Funny thing is,” he smiled,” when I come out in the Morning to pick’em up, there doesn’t seem nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before and I have peace in my heart which is a very good start for a new
day.”Author Unknown 1Luke 12:24-26 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds! And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life’s span? If then you cannot do even a very little thing, why do you worry about other matters? (NASB)

Tree 1Would you like a Worry Tree ? well we have one always with us but it’s not like the Trees that grow in our garden, yet its good roots go deep down and  it’s not a Tree that needs to be watered with a hose and yet it’s ever green and its not necessary to go looking for it, we will find it where ever we are and it will never die… It’s very powerful and has great strength it’s called Prayer and it brings us to the Heart of God as we share in Unity with Him.

praying 1Does God need our Prayers to achieve His work, No but He chooses to need then to accomplish His will… Why? because of His great Love for us He wants to be our Friend and Friends are not servants to be told what to do… He wants us to willingly Trust and Believe in Him, to seek Him for our needs, to depend on Him and not ourselves and to give Thanks, which is confirming that what we receive is from Him.

And He also wants us to  willingly  serve Him and do the good works He has equipped and planed in advance for us to do and that He empowers us to do, and when we do our Faith is strengthened and grows and we become Mature attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ but this is not after we die or even when Jesus returns but now when our flesh is put to death and we are perfected in Love, which we aim for, we than walk as He walked and are like Him in this World, sacrificially Loving, Holy and blameless.

1John 4:16-19 And we have known and believed the Love that God hath to us. God is Love; and he that dwelleth in Love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

prayergroupWhen we Pray in the Body of Christ,  Jesus is our Head and we are joined together and become one and by His Love and are firmly Established and United… We are His Family.
Tree 1Our Worry Tree is also a Blessing Tree so let’s use it remembering that our Prayers are Powerful when prayed in the Spirit and in Truth, so why Worry!

2Corinthians 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in Peace; and the God of Love and Peace shall be with you.

I find that after I talk to God and my other online Christian sisters, I cannot help but look back on what I prayed about and say, “Now was that all?”
I love God so much and cannot thank Him enough for never giving up on me (or any of His other children)! I thank Him for always being there to comfort or share in the joy of His children.

    • Thank you for visiting again Ada, it’s a blessing that you did and yes I agree with you, God never stops Loving us, He can’t, He is Love, it is His completeness and it is what He wants for us, to be perfected in His Love, nothing less but He is patient giving us time and as you shared not one of us that He knows as His, will be lost.

The Worry Tree , what a great little tool to use to get your priorities in order. Yes ,leave your work at the door when you go home, and give your family your total time . We need to have a worry tree at the door of the church , so that we can give to God the priority that He deserves through our worship and prayers.

    Blessings

    • I’m pleased you enjoyed Alan Jackson’s “What a Friend we have in Jesus” Equipping The Saints, just as well Jesus is always Loving and Faithful sometimes people deliberately hurt us and so we find it hard to Trust them again and it can also cause us to loose confidence in what we do but thankfully Jesus helps us to heal.
