Love, Honor, and Obey: Part 2 (1 John 4:17–5:5)

I would like to share Pastor Joe’s message with you so you can stop and smell the Roses, although it has a practical focus on Love and is not complete,  there is the sweet  smelling Aroma of God’s Love in many of Pastor Joe’s  points and so they are perfumed with His Truth.

Thank you Pastor Joe for the bunch of Roses, how wonderful too that when we are Born again we have God’s  seed, which means we are in the image of Jesus,  we have His Nature 1John3:9

We don’t know now what we will be as far as our role in Eternity but we will know Jesus when when He returns because as the Scripture below tells us, we will be like Him.

1 John 3:1-3 Behold, what manner of Love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the Sons/Daughters of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew Him not. Beloved, now are we the Sons/Daughters  of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man/woman that hath this Hope in Him purifieth himself/herself, even as He is pure.

Christian Love from both of us – Anne

Joe Quatrone, Jr.

1 Jn 5_4 In Part 1 of this article, we looked at two evidences of mature Christian love: confidence and honesty. As we continue our study in John’s letter, he gives two more evidences.

Not simply obedience—but joyful obedience! “His commandments are not burdensome” (1 Jn. 5:3).

Everything in creation—except man—obeys the will of God. “Lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do His bidding” (Ps. 148:8). In the Book of Jonah, you see the winds, waves, and even the fish obeying God’s commands, but the prophet persisted in disobeying. Even a plant and a little worm did what God commanded, but the prophet stubbornly wanted his own way.

Disobedience to God’s will is a tragedy—but so is reluctant, grudging obedience. God does not want us to disobey Him, but neither does He want us to obey out…

Thanks Anne for the message from Pastor Joe, a real packaged and thoughtful message, I enjoyed it .

    Blessings Ron.

    • Hi Love, yes as a whole I too thought Pastor Joe’s message was good and as we know that when we are Born again we have no fear either because as the Scripture below tells us, just the same as Jesus is, so are we the same in this world.

1 John 4:17-19 Herein is our Love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in Love; but perfect Love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in Love. We Love Him, because He first Loved us.

Christian Love always dear – Anne
