Jesus was Born on the 25th of December

Jesus in manger Why Jesus Christ’s Birth could have only been

In the Month of December.

There are many unproven theories as to why Jesus Christ was not Born in December and why we should not Celebrate Christmas at this time together as Christians, this is the same with Easter but when examined in the light of Scripture by the empowering of The Holy Spirit, they have no substance or Truth and are mostly hearsay and fiction and come from man’s own logic, reasoning and understanding and fear. God tells us we should not agree or support those who teach contrary to His revealed Truth and we will know when it is both through Scripture and by The empowering of The Holy Spirit.

Over the next week will be looking at the Scriptures and Creation that confirm God’s account of the Birth of His Son, we will do this in parts so you will be able to discern for yourself its accuracy in relation to Jesus birth being on the 25th of December but first let’s look at some of the objections.  Christmas Tree 12

One thing those who discredit Christmas claim, is that the Christmas Tree was forbidden by God but as we look at the Scripture in (Jeremiah 10: 2-4 ) that they refer to, we see that the trees mentioned  were used by the Pagans to craft Idols in the images of their gods which they then adorned with their gold and silver and worshiped all year, they were not celebrating Christmas but what is important is how they used these trees not that they used them. Thy are part of God’s creation and all He made was very good and to be enjoyed but anything can be used for evil.

No where in Scripture does God tell us not to Celebrate Christmas as Christians together,  we are not accountable for what Pagans or Heathens do God knows our hearts but if you are indeed worshiping your Christmas Tree then you may need to seek help fast!

God  tells us to give thanks and Praise to Him in all things but yes He also warns us not to worship false gods or to use our children as sacrifices to them, or put anything before Him including money.

God knows that unbelievers  hearts are hard, He sees them from afar, He cannot be in fellowship with them because of their unconfessed sin but He longs to be, He does not want anyone to perish, meaning Spiritually to be separated eternally from Him. He also knows us,  His Redeemed Children and delights in us. Having accepted His free gift of Salvation by coming to heart Repentance and receiving forgiveness, we show we believe in Jesus His Son who sets us free from the slavery and bondage of sin.

Heartbreakingly many commit Suicide but not just at Christmas, all through the year because they don’t have the Eternal Hope that is found only in Jesus Christ, it is their choice if they reject Him, not His, He died to set them free.

Why should we let Pagans ungodly actions stop us from  Celebrating God’s great Love Gift in Jesus at Christmas or reject the beauty of His Creation and our God-given creativity in using it symbolically just because Pagans used Trees to worship their gods.

Pine cones 61

Some of  the Decorations we enjoy at Christmas time were in the Tabernacle and are mentioned in other Scriptures, their Spiritual Symbolism is very encouraging and uplifting (see link below )  the Symbolism of most of these treasures  have been known for years and shared, others were given recently by The Spirits empowering as we see them with our focus on Jesus Christ, the greatest gift we have ever received.

Symbols-   https://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2011/12/07/share-with-the-children/

We are indeed to celebrate Jesus Birth and give thanks that He died for us while we were still sinners and of course we do this all year. If we are not thankful for His Birth we can’t be thankful that He died for us, both go together.

 Cross 765

Jesus was hung on a Tree which was carved into the form of a Cross, His hands were nailed to it, His feet then tied firmly for weight support, He suffered greatly but He knew each one of us by name even before we were born, that is why He tells us we are carved on the palms of His hands, this is symbolic of the nails that He endured because of our sins and yet He considered Mankind worth it because of His great Love for us. How wonderful that He will not forget His Bride or abandon us, we are part of Him in The Spirit.

In the Palm of my hand

The early Church Leaders being called the First-fruits who were part of the Body of Christ, His Church which was called Catholic meaning Universal and not confined to any one Race, Denomination, or Country, or Gender,  God does not have favorites but He knows those who are His even before we are Born. The early Church also called the Way and The Church of God, at that time knew the date of Jesus birth, later this date shown by events and signs in Scripture, was confirmed by those who followed.

It would also have been very hard if God had not Ordained Jesus’ Birth to be the 25th of December, to find a day to Celebrate Christ’s birth  that was not set apart at that time by the Pagans to worship their sun-god or one of their other gods.

It is also hard to conceive that these Leaders would just have taken a guess as to the time Jesus was Born or that God did not plan His Son’s birth down to the finest and exact detail… yes the signs that show the exact time of His birth and death are recorded in the Scriptures the same as the signs of His return.(1Thessalonians 5 :2 -6 )

AngelOne of the other things that is claimed shows Jesus was not Born in December is that the sheep would not have been in the hills in winter but the facts show different and they still are today until  the extreme cold temperatures in January and onwards. Some still argue that the birth occurred in some other season, like the fall. Those who believe this to be True say that the Judean Winters were too cold for Shepherds to be watching their flocks by night History shows they did and there is historical evidence too that unblemished lambs for the Temple sacrifice, were kept in the fields near Bethlehem during the winter months.

Also Jesus was laid in a manger by Mary, ( Luke 2: 7) this would have been lined with hay as it was being used to feed the Oxen and other animals who were sheltered in ( barns ) stables during the winter which is the rainy season, unlike the sheep who are well padded and who were being watched over by the Shepherds on the hills.

The Oxen were sheltered in the Barn, ( Stable ) of the Inns in winter but they were used to trash out the grain in the harvest season and so were grazed in the pastures. For the manger to be full it would mean that it was winter and December not October or any other month of the year.

The Scriptures tell us in  ( Proverbs 14: 4  Where no Oxen are, the crib is clean ( or manger ) but much increase is by the strength of the Ox ) we know this is referring to the work the Ox did in the sowing, harvesting and trashing of the Grain in the dry seasons, which means the manger would have been empty during  this time but not so in December and through the colder months.

Some of those who say we are not to Celebrate Jesus’ Birth at Christmas also tell us we are not give The Godhead honour or Trinity as we call Them today, meaning Three in One, because the Pagans  worship  their Trinity consisting  of Satan, the Beast and the false Prophet? The Scriptures tell us if we can’t acknowledge The Living Word, Jesus Christ Divinity as part of the Trinity, then we don’t have The Holy Spirit.

1John 5:7 For there are Three that bear record in Heaven, The Father, The Word, and The Holy Ghost and these Three are One.

Jesus birth

.Let’s not listen to the collective murmurings of those who want to cast doubt on the recorded words of Scripture, some of these are Cults and like them some others who make these claims also seek to keep the Law hoping to gain their Salvation through doing this, instead of Trusting in the finished work of Christ on the Cross.

Yes we keep the Law but not by the Old Covenant of rules and regulations, Jesus was the fulfillment of these. Those who believe they are needed for Salvation and those who reject Jesus’ Birth at Christmas cause confusion, so instead of listing to man’s fleshy understanding let’s keep our focus on Jesus our Lord and Saviour … who is The Way, The Truth, The Life and as we know, no one comes to the Father but through Him  and we become one with Him as He rises in our hearts. ( 2 Peter1:19-21 )

We will continue over Christmas and when needed confirm the signs in which the Scriptures and the Universe reveal the date of Jesus’ Birth as the25th of December, below is a link that confirms this Truth in the birth of John the Baptist.

Thank you for your post, I celebrate Christmas in December, but since I saw several websites saying He was born in September, I thought it was true.. If you celebrate Jesus Christ daily.. you cant go wrong 🙂

    • I agree with you 100% Mary Ann we should remember Christmas everyday by showing Jesus’ Love and kindness to everyone. I have a Fundayschool for Children and so I leave some Christmas decorations around my home all year, when they ask why I tell them in our hearts Christmas should be everyday so we remember Jesus and that He Loves us and because we Love Him and we Love other people we are kind to them everyday too.

Yes Mary Ann we need to be very careful of Cult teaching on the Internet and with e-mails and in books too. Apart from other deception, Cults also reject The Godhead or Trinity as we call Them today both meaning Three in One and they even delete references in their own Bibles or ignore Scripture in ours that show the reality of The Trinity. It’s easier to recognise Atheist propaganda than Cults false teaching but they both cause confusion, doubts and division.

  7. Another great post. I can’t remember from the top of my head the reference but I think that there is evidence that Christian celebration of Christ Birth on the 25 of December predates the pagan celebration of the god Sun…actually if I am not mistaken it was the other way around were the pagans tried to take away from Christians.

    • I don’t care what Pagans do Caleb, when I celebrate Christmas, I’m worshiping Jesus not a sun god but they worship their gods most days anyway so it would be hard to choose a day that they don’t but we don’t have to, God chose the date and yes it was celebrated in the early Church too.

Week I just read your article on Dec 25 as Jesus’ birthday and the scripture quoted was in error. Ex 30:13 and Lev were for atonement priest duties not the burning of incense which was daily and decided by lot, and set over a period of time. Regardless of the date you fail to show where in the bible believers are to celebrate birthdays at all let alone Christs’! Only non believers, pagans and Gentiles celebrate birthdays in the bible. None of the Apostles, nor did any believers after the Apostles (until 300 ad) celebrated nor preached Christ’s’ birthday! nor is it part of The Gospel of Christ!

      • Mike where does it say in Scripture we are not to celebrate Birthdays including Jesus’ Birth ? these are man made rules. I don’t care what Pagans do when they worship their gods or what anyone else does at Christmas, when I Praise and worship God at any time of the year, He sees my Heart and that is what is important.

In answer to your claim Mike that Jesus was not born in December, we can see in Scripture that Zacharias was doing the duties of a High Priest on the day of Atonement and so we can see confirmed very clearly in Scripture ( see link below ) that Jesus was indeed Born in December and yes His Birthday was celebrated by the early Church, did you also forget that the Wise Men brought gifts and the Angels Celebrated His Birth too and do you think Mike that the Disciples did not know the time of Jesus Birth to pass onto us or that God would not have had man record it for those who have eyes to see.

        Jesus’ Birthdate – https://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2013/01/12/jesus-christ-gods-great-gift-to-us/

We also remember Mike the Carols like other Christian Songs were inspired by God and so their words are confirmed in Scripture too but even the Oxen shows us it was Winter.

Listening to man Mike instead of God leads to error and it is why there are Cults and those deceived by false Teachers, we ask God for His wisdom and empowering and Trust Jesus our only Teacher not a man to lead us into all Truth.

Where in the bible does it say we are not to celebrate our birthdays? Every scripture that talks of self pride, self idolatry, dying to self, covetousness, arrogance, self will, the way of the Gentiles, works of men , wisdom of men ……….pick one! That’s why you cannot find a believer celebrating a birthday anywhere in the bible, even the NT church! That’s why you didn’t show anything to support early church celebration! Only pagan Gentiles in the bible honor themselves on their birthday.

I’m sure the Disciples knew Jesus’ time of birth, as did His mother and brothers and sisters. Where did they celebrate in scripture? They knew! And never recorded it!

Angels celebrated?? Where? They announced! Celebrate is the same word as observe in the bible. Carnal birth vs. Spiritual birth! You must be born again……..Word of Jesus Himself. Giving little value to carnal birth compared to Spiritual. Jesus was the only man born to die!

The course of Abijah was a rotating course of 24 weeks! Pick the correct course and it lines up with The Feast of Tabernacles, which also lines up with all scripture, and what is said in Luke God tabernacles with us. Nothing Holy or Christian in the bible lines up with December, birthdays or man made traditions as anything we should partake in or create. Golden calfs and ishmaels do still exist. You have to make a huge stretch to justify and validate all the fallacies blended into Xmas since its inception and years of perpetuation. The word alone is an oxymoron! Christ never had anything to do with mass.

Here’s a simple calculation: Jesus was 33 1/2 years old. Died on Passover. Back up 6 months and you get Feast of Tabernacles. People in the fields too!

You say you don’t care what pagans do when they worship their gods, yet you emulate everything they do and put Christ’s name on it, and call it worship! We are to be Holy, separate from anything common. A New Creation! As for your heart, God said those who worship Him worship in Spirit and In Truth……not from your heart!

You talk of listening to man, errors and false teachers. Yet you provide nothing in context that lines up in scripture. Read Gen 3 to see how the con veluded Word of God is used to deceive. I didn’t get this revelation or knowledge from any man. I have only used scripture in its context shown me by The Spirit that saved me. Your statements can and are only supported by traditions of apostate men , convoluted history and secular holy practices. The lies and deception that put us in debt must stop

      • It was the day of Atonement Mike and Zachariah was preforming the duties of a high Priest as shown by what was happening at that time, if you don’t read the evidence as confirmed by Scripture you will remain in confusion because of believing in Man’s fleshy understanding.

God created the Tree, Pagans used it to worship their gods by grafting it into their images and adorning them with gold, does that mean Mike we can’t have anything to do with Trees because they used them for idolatry.

When I see a Tree like all of God’s creation it reminds me of how Awesome He is the same as all the Symbols of Christmas do and some are mentioned in Scripture too. I don’t worship them and nor did those in the Scriptures who used them but they reminded them and they do us too of God’s greatness and His plan for Humanity as confirmed with all the symbols used in The Tabernacle, which were the revelation of Christ, even though Pagans use them too in their idolatry.

If you do see them as Christmas Symbols as Idolatry Mike, do you also believe that the Cross, the Dove, the Rainbow, the Stars, the Moon, Candles, Colours, Butterflys, Crystals etc because Pagans use them are evil too even though they were all used by God and created by Him or made from what He created.

God gives us guidelines to follow in Scripture Mike and He does not tell us we are not to celebrate Jesus’ Birth or the Day we were Born, as I said before, these are man made rules made up by those it seems with limited understanding of what Christ’s Birth and what our Birth means to God. He chose us before we were conceived, He knows us as His own and will conform us into the image of Jesus through the empowering of the Holy Spirit as we choose to walk in His Fruit and not one of us will be lost, that is God’s promise. Do you know the heart of everyone Mike, can you judge them as going to Hell or having been chosen by God?

He tells us also that He delights in us and sings over us and as you can see below in Christ Jesus we are not just worms, we are to take Godly Pride in who we are as Christians and what we do for Him and this is confirmed in Scripture but yes we are to put to death our Carnal flesh or Nature by the empowering of The Spirit as we aim to be Perfected in Love……

1 Peter 2: 9-10 But ye are a chosen Generation, a Royal Priesthood, an Holy Nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the Praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous Light; Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.(KJV)

Please confirm for us in Scripture Mike where it tells us Numerically that Jesus was in Ministry for 3 years or that He was 33 1/2 years old when He died, are these Man’s own calculations? when viewing the events happening at that time and before as a guide it does not confirm His Ministry as being 3 years but less, the same as His age. as for the Passovers, the Oxen Jesus mentioned shows what time of year this was, so what was the significance or focus of what they were remembering.

In reference Mike to my Heart…….

Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my Heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.

Psalm 33:14-15 From the place of His habitation He looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their Hearts alike; He considereth all their works.

Ezekiel 11:18-20 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. And I will give them one Heart, and I will put a new Spirit within you; and I will take the stony Heart out of their flesh, and will give them an Heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

Acts 1:24 -25 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the Hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen.

Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine Heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

Acts 15 7-9 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the Gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the Hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as He did unto us. And put no difference between us and them, purifying their Hearts by Faith.

Psalm 33:11-12 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of His heart to all Generations. Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom he hath chosen for His own inheritance.

If you continue to reject what is confirmed with Scripture Mike for what you think or have been taught in error, I see no point in continuing to share with you just so you can take the opportunity to abuse me and others without any Scriptures to confirm what you propagate. So in future your comments will be moderated and if you show genuine Scriptural confirmation and not just what you and others think is True, I will approve your comment.

    Dear Anne,
This morning I found your comment on my post that was addressed to Christians who don’t celebrate Christmas. Your comment gave your view that Christmas should be celebrated. I left it up for a while and even replied, but I’ve decided to take it down. In writing this post I hoped to help Christians, who have decided not to celebrate this holiday, to get through it in a way that honors the Lord and without getting depressed. So your comment will be deleted because you aren’t being helpful to them. Your own blog is the place to speak and you have done this here. My blog is my place to speak what I must say.

I appreciated that instead of deleting or deliberately ignoring my comment like others have done without Scriptural confirmation that I’m in error, you were willing to resolve our differences which is what God asks us to do but it seems you are like the others and this shows lack of Christian Love and is what Atheists and Cults do and those who are rude and focused on themselves.

I do not share anything Maria without Scriptural confirmation or do I condone and support those who cause confusion when they share without Scriptural support and this is what many Cults do and they are not just those who do not believe in The Godhead or The Trinity as They are called today, Cults or deceived and Childish Christians are those who teach what is contrary to God’s Truth which I stand up for and if you had been following our Blogs last year in December, you would have known without doubt that Christmas was the time of Jesus Birth, it could not have been any other time, do you really believe that God would not have planed and recorded when His Son was Born, sad if you do.

We need Spiritual eyes to understand God’s Truth as confirmed in (1Corinthians2:9-16)and His wisdom which is the principle thing, not fleshy man or woman’s understanding.

Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Yes so very True Donna, even Mary was a sinner, we have all fallen short of the Glory of God and if we claim we have not sinned and so don’t need Salvation we are making God out to be a liar but as Born again Christians we no longer walk in darkness as this Chapter also tells us and when we are cleansed from all unrighteousness by God’s empowering through the Spirit in our lives, we no longer continue to sin … How good is that!.

1John 1:5-7 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
