Philippians 4: 8 Finally, Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are Lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
I would like to share with you the real danger of Halloween, as part of the Occult it has a deadly focus and outcome, perhaps you felt it was just a bit of fun but it’s whole message is evil and Christians participation in it, is in direct disobedience to God, which is very dangerous because we will reap what we sow.
My involvement in the Occult started so innocently with a T.V show called Bewitched, it seemed harmless but dangerous seeds were planted because I longed to be like Samantha the Star of this show, a good white Witch, not a bad one but they are both the same and so sadly in the end my life became a nightmare of delusion and fear, I could not find the power that was promised although I did search for it which led to very harmful beliefs and practices but thankfully I didn’t become involved with a Coven and Satan worship which is where it could have led and these are the deep things of Satan and even murder is practiced in their sacrifices to him.
But I did do Tara card readings and Astrology Charts focusing on the daily Stars but the lies weighed heavy on me and I was very troubled and had no peace even having nightmares until I rejected the Occult and all that it involved and then came to true heart repentance .
God tells us that we will be greatly blessed if we obey His guidelines and we will want to if we Love Him and He tells us not to have anything to do with the deeds of the darkness which is sin and all it leads to.

Ephesians 5: 8 -11 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light for ( the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
With Halloween and it’s focus, what seeds are being planted, lets take a look….
Trick a Treat
Children masquerading as witches,vampires, ghosts, ghouls, monsters and fairies, going door to door, shouting Trick a Treat, bags being filled up with all sorts of sweets, and other treats and goodies, parties and playing “tricks,”not always very pleasant when done by Teenagers who have been drinking.
Many believe that Halloween is harmless and just a bit of fun? I did once too but it’s focus is not Godly and never was.
Deuteronomy 18:10-11 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.
No matter how innocent or harmless it seems, the activities, focus and presented Characters of Halloween, includes what God calls the spiritually unclean and so is evil and must be rejected.

Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God

Excellent post Anne! Some Christians believe it’s okay for them and their children to enjoy “a little bit” of the Halloween holiday. What’s next? . . . a little bit of marijuana’s okay but cocaine isn’t? 1 Peter 5:8 says that satan prowls around like a roaring lion looking for whom he can devour. What better night than on his holiday to do it?
If Christians want a party, have a Biblical costume (even animals) and apple-bobbing holiday in September or so. But then the radical civic groups would have a field day banning it, wouldn’t they? 🙂
Sadly, Christmas and Easter have become immersed in pagan traditions too, However they aren’t dedicated to demons and evil as Halloween is. By now it has become the proverbial frog in the frying pan for Christian families in America. I believe these families are afraid of the ridicule it would bring to their children and themselves and therefore ‘blend in.’ becoming like the world As for me and my house, I’ll serve the Lord in my imperfections but striving for excellence. This is was how I got addicted to gambling, it seemed so much fun at first but lead to a nightmare, except for God’s Love shown in His Mercy and Grace, I would not be here, He rescued and delivered me of the Addiction and also healed me of two life treating conditions, did I deserve His Mercy… No but God knows those who are His from Eternity but I do grieve that I hurt Him so much even though He keeps no record of our wrongs.

So True Angie and God tells us to expose evil and warn others about it’s danger. In the comming weeks we are going to focus on Cults and their deception, it will be in some ways straight to the point but with enough detail to explain fully so people won’t be deceived as to their danger.

I agree with all these comments, but in our fervor to condemn the evil of halloween let us not make children think they can’t experience the joy of the season. Our church and many others have harvest parties to celebrate God’s bounty. There are clean games, hay rides, cake walks, costumes, and yes, candy we don’t have to check for sharp objects. These parties are open to the entire community and are well received, besides keeping the children and teens off the streets.

Thank you Elaine for expressing your concerns and I’m sure your Church’s motivation for celebrating God’s Bounty is very good, as by your witness I can see you are rejecting Halloween. But sadly Elaine this is not always True with other Churches who are more interested in promoting Pagan rituals then God’s blessings so their numbers will increase but God makes it very clear we cannot be friends with the world and Him too.
God’s Blessing in the bounty of His harvest is for all the Season but of course all year too as you will no doubt agree, I believe at first most Churches sought to offer an alternative to Halloween not to compete with it but inadvertently celebrated their thankfulness to God on the same night as Halloween, October 31st, there by giving the impression they were supporting it not only to other Christians but to those who don’t believe in our God.
Today in some Churches when celebrating the Bounty of God’s harvest the costumes and memorabilia are the same as used for Halloween and they are indeed evil reminders of ungodly Pagan worship, which is deep darkness reflected in evil. Candy, like all God’s gifts can be used for good or bad as those who use them for reward or pleasure are motivated. God is a God of balance, He created the Sugar cane and Honey but warns too much will make us sick, candies, cakes etc are not the forbidden fruit, disobedience is the fruit of the evil flesh and when eaten brings spiritual death.
Let’s also not overlook the Truth that just like Christmas and Easter, this time of year was no doubt chosen by Satan through his people to devalue God’s Bounty time and His greater blessing in His sacrificial Love shown by the wonderful gift of His Son Jesus Christ. Satan internally used these times of year to promote and celebrate his evil works instead. As for Trick or Treat wouldn’t it be nice if Children with supervision gave a gift of Love instead of asking for something with the threat of punishment if not given.
What is very much needed Elaine at this time of unrest as we draw nearer to Jesus’ return, is for all Churches to show their rejection of Halloween by celebrating God’s blessing in His Bounty of The Harvest at another time of the Season because unlike Jesus’ birth on the 25th of December and His death on Good Friday, it continues on for all the Season and so if those in Leadership in our Churches are indeed genuine in wanting to show Godliness in their motivation to celebrate this time of year, they will seek to do this, presenting to unbelievers a clear distinction between Halloween and Thankfulness to our God.

I stopped celebrating Halloween after I accepted the Lord in my heart 31 years ago. As a child it was just getting candy, but I found out different after studying God’s word. My children were taught that it was wrong, but now they are taking my grandchildren out trick or treating. i pray their eyes are opened to the truth of God. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard or read this bold message. We must remember who we are as Christians. Too many churches don’t take it seriously.

Hi Tina, thank you for the Reblog but also for sharing, both are greatly appreciated. I feel very much for you in having to witness your Children doing the opposite to your advise and direction for them, it is not only frustrating but I’m sure it hurts you greatly. God understands your disappointment and feels your hurt, He has given us His guidelines very clearly in the Scriptures but many ignore them and choose what the world and their own desires promote but He will never go against their free will and force them into submission, He wants our obedience to come from Love not fear.
Our Dear Heavenly Father please comfort Tina as it grieves her like it does you to see her Children participating in a Pagan Celebration that you call evil, when like you she gave Godly direction. We pray that Tina’s Children’s eyes will be opened to the dangers of Halloween and similar Celebrations or activities that focus on evil, even that which seems harmless on the surface. Lord Tina’s desire is always to do your will, I ask that you direct her as to what she can do to help her children walk in the Light and also to Trust you as you work in their lives. My thoughts and prayers Tina will be with you, our Abba Father does indeed rescue us I’m evidence of that, yes I reached out for His help first but I did so because of His Loving Discipline and chastising. When all else had failed to touch my heart, as much as it hurt Him, He let me suffer the consequences of my own actions but He never gave up Hope because He knew my heart and that I would surrender to His will and He also knows your Childrens and His Love for them is never ending as it is for you too, may He bless you greatly Tina and those you Love.

I just showed this to my husband. Oh, how I wish I’d been wiser as a young mother and not let my children participate in this horrible thing. Even now, they don’t see it as bad, and I feel I’m to blame for that. It has only been in the last 9 or 10 years that I’ve really awakened to the depth of evil inherent in this. Lord forgive me!! They spent their youth thinking it was just a fun day for candy, and so did I – even our church had “Harvest Parties,” which I now see as just a watered-down version of halloween. I’m always being told – by other Christians!! – that it’s just an innocent candy night, and that I’m being legalistic and narrow-minded. That’s OK, I’ll just be that way.

Wow LubbyGirl, your honesty is so refreshing, you are a blessing and yes you can be sure God has indeed forgiven you, He knows your heart and so chooses not to remember your mistakes, His Love covers a multitude of confessed sins and you have shown by rejecting Halloween that you have really repented from the heart so He keeps no record of your wrongs… How good is That!
As for you being legalistic and narrow-minded, me too! and it’s so good we are but to hit the nail on the head, they always say that when they can’t refute God’s Truth that we share, Truth only hurts when your in error and so they justify their wrong actions by putting us down… they do indeed need our prayers and even more of our Love in speaking God’s Truth.

Anne, well said. Thank you for taking the time to find scriptural back-up for these thoughts. This time of year is very frustrating for me as a believer. I have long despised this practice. I’m very sure that satan gets a good laugh at the Believer’s expense. Roots in the fear of the unknown grow all kinds of evil and that is how we got All Hallows Eve. I will not be a popular Sunday School teacher tomorrow but I will be using your verses. Your writing blesses me greatly. Marie

Very True Love, rubbish in rubbish out, I was shocked to see so much Halloween products on sale in the shops but even more so to see young children soaking up this evil with delight… so very, very sad.

Amen! I thank God I had this revelation before my children were born. We never participated in ANY event pertaining to Halloween…even church events. I just ignored the entire day. Our kids never missed it.
