Mountain Moving Faith

 Mountain Moving Faith

Some people think Faith comes from Miracles, but others know Miracles also come from Faith.

A small Congregation in the foothills of the Great Smokies built a beautiful new Sanctuary ( simulated picture ) on a piece of land willed to them by a Church member. Ten days before the new Church was to open, the local building Inspector informed the Pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of the building.  Until the Church doubled the size of the parking lot they would be unable to use the new Sanctuary.

Unfortunately, the Church with its undersized parking lot had used every inch of their land except for the mountain against which it had been built.  In order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain out of the back yard.

Undaunted, the Pastor announced the next Sunday morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had “Mountain Moving Faith”.  They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and painted before the scheduled opening Dedication Service the following week.

At the appointed time, two dozen of the Congregation’s members assembled for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours.

At ten o’clock the pastor said the final “Amen”.  “We’ll open next Sunday as scheduled”, he assured everyone.  “God has never let us down before, and I believe He will be faithful this time, too.”

The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock at his door.  When he called “come in”, a rough-looking construction foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered.

Excuse me Reverend.  I’m from Acme Construction Company over in the next county.  We’re building a huge new Shopping Mall over there and we need some fill dirt.  Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the Church?  We’ll pay for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can have it right away.

We can’t do anything else until we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly.”

The little Church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned — and there were far more members with “Mountain Moving Faith” on opening Sunday than there had been the previous week!

Would you have shown up for that prayer meeting?….. Faith comes from Miracles and Miracles come from Faith!

By Nancy L. Dorner, from “A Double Dose of God’s Vitamin C for the Spirit”

Jesus said in John 14:11  Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me also, or at least believe on the evidence of the Miracles themselves.

It’s sad how some like to explain away Miracles without any real confirmation, only what they believe or have been told but we remember even though someone once said Hope is the Denial of reality, Hope is always based in reality, although its reality is only seen by those who have Faith.

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all Saints. KJV

Mark 11:22-24 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this Mountain; Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea and shall not doubt in his heart but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass, he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them. (KJV)

Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

God’s Blessings now and Always – Anne.

Cute story. What is the name of the church this happened to? Address? I think we should pray for the building committee that built a building without checking the local building codes. And the building inspector that approved the building plans without noticing they didn’t have the parking available for the building he approved.

    • Sorry Willie I do not know the Name or the address of this Church, I received the Story by E-mail years ago but I have no doubt that it’s True, we experienced amazing Blessings when building a Church we attended for many years too but yes there does seem to have been some oversight with this Church in the Story but wonderfully God knew and had it in control and through the Faith of those who Prayed He corrected it.

Some words about Faith for you Willie and they are indeed a reality in my life………

Someone once said Hope is the Denial of reality but Hope is always based in reality, although its reality is only seen by those who have Faith.

Faith comes from Miracles and Miracles come from Faith!

What a wonderful testimony of what God wants to do in our lives if we will take that step to be in His presence and pray over our mountains.

Yes it stopped my heart the first time I read this story T and also reminded me of a similar experience at a Church we were members of, we decided to build a Church, we use to Worship in a School Auditorium but our activities during the week like Craft and Play Group etc had no where big enough to meet. It was amazing that with very little resources we were able to build our Church, I shared more about this time with Tina below, it was indeed a very uplifting experience.

  6. “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:22-24 NIV84).

That’s a wonderful post. God bless you.

Hi LubbyGirl, Wow no wonder this Story was on my mind yesterday and also confirmed on other Blogs, you came from there. To be honest I don’t know what Church it is, I just thought the picture fitted in with the Story, which I have had for many years.

Will be over to visit you later Sis, I noticed you have written a new Post.

Hi Love, yes that is all the Faith we need but to have Faith we have to live it, a small amount of Faith will move a Mountain but a large amount of Faith will know were to put it, that is why later the Disciples asked Jesus to incress their Faith and so did others. Jesus tells us we don’t have because we don’t ask or with the right motives or with all our heart.

As I shared with Tina below, this Story reminded me of our Church when we first came to Queensland and helped to built it, Wow we sure saw God’s hand on it’s start and completion didn’t we.

Hi Tina and thank you again for your encouragement, it is so good I agree to know that our God is the God of the impossible. We had a similar experience at a Church we were members of, we decided to build a Church, we use to Worship in a School Auditorium but our activities during the week like Craft and Play Group etc had no where big enough to meet. It was amazing that with very little resources we were able to build our Church. At the time there was a Ministry which Christian Builders were part of and they offered to build it for free, we just paid for the material and helped with the labour and also like this story people came to help, offering their Trucks and earth moving equipment and everyone in the Church was involved, the woman made Lunches and morning and afternoon teas and the men helped with the Labour, Ron even did all the French polishing on the woodwork… our God is indeed Awesome!

      Christian Love Tina – Anne.
