If you are a Loving Dad or Mum you will not relate well to this Scenario, in fact you will have righteous anger that anyone would not only allow but arrange this injustice to happen to their own Child…
Jan’s Mum and Dad were considering sending her to an Easter Camp, they read a few brochures from different Camps, which talked about the amenities and activities that were available, they all sounded good but finally they settled on one that presented well and offered a lot of variety, it was a little more expensive than the rest but they felt it would be well worth it. They paid the deposit and made their own arrangements for an Island Holiday that they had always wanted.
One night just prior to the Camp, friends who they hadn’t seen for some time warned them of the danger of the Camp they had chosen for Jan, they had only recently sent their Son to the same Camp, they explained about the strict disciplinary actions taken if any Child did not comply with the rules and the blatant disregard for the Children as people of worth.
They said that their Son had come back broken in spirit and was even on the point of collapse, he felt he was worthless and he was also very disillusioned about God and unsure if He was indeed Loving or that He even really cared about him.
After counselling things returned to normal but the experience has left their Son very confused and disheartened.
Jan’s Parents after thinking over what had been said by their friends, still decided to send Jan to the Camp they had chosen and were warned about, after all they were her Parents and had the final say, besides Jan may learn humility, respect and obedience, rules are rules after all and sometimes a little fear can be good can’t it. Hopefully they thought Jan may also learn something that would be useful and which they could use for their benefit later.. In the Grand Scheme of things if Jan suffers a bit now does it really matter.
What do you think about the Love these Parents had for their Daughter, were they protecting her from harm ?
Does God bring suffering on us ? or does He know that we will encounter trouble, hardship and suffering and so seeks to protect His Children and strengthen us to withstand it.
God gives us His guidelines and we will experience His discipline and chastising if we disobey them. He does this by allowing us our own free will, so we reap what we sow good and bad and if we choose evil it will be unpleasant but like the Prodigal son we will come to our senses if we are a Child of God’s heart .
We remember all the trouble Paul and the other Disciples encountered in sharing the Gospel and yet they remained strong, we also remember what God says Himself, and that is…that our suffering is not from His hand but from our own evil Nature, our wrong choices or others and a fallen world where Satan is in control , the Scriptures tells us that
God can do no evil, even to bring good out of it, they tell us to say He does is slander, but God does bring good out of evil… there is a big difference.
God is Love, let’s always remember this and be thankful , He does not rejoice in evil, in other words He finds no good in evil or does He willingly allow it 1Corinthians 13: 4 – 8 but He does tolerate it so none of His Children will perish … He is giving us time.
Take time to Consider … ” Are you a more Loving Parent then our Heavenly Father?” would you deliberately hurt your Child for your Glory ? did God send His Son to die a cruel, agonising and brutal death or did we…God sent Jesus but we did not listen to Him, we killed Him instead, our sins, pieced His hands and feet, we placed a crown of mockery and contempt on His head and a robe of ridicule around His shoulders and then we pieced His side with our accusations and insults blaming Him for our own sinful actions and their consequences, justifying the wrong we did, we then placed Him in a tomb and forgot Him and lived to please ourselves.
” But He rose and so will we in Him! “
Jesus chose to rescue and save us, He knew this was the heart cry of His Father and our heart focus when we are Born again is the same, we long to do Heavenly Fathers will which is to Love sacrificially regardless of the cost.
Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”
Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Psalm 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made Heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: He that keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
Proverbs 10:20-22 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and He addeth no sorrow with it.
Hebrews 4:15-16 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
