Ebenezer Update

Ebenezer Update by Ranji Chara

We are born to belong to someone and the sense of belonging is within us. This is not only among humans but even birds and animals. To live under the shadow of a parent, to feel protected and provided for is most important for any kid! Above all we want to be Loved and cared for; we thrive under Love; we become irrational and even inhuman when we are not Loved.

On the 17th of April 2012 Ebenezer clocks eleven years of Love and care to Children found on streets, on waysides, trampled down and left aside hurt and rejected. Such Children react with rebellion, anger and mistrust towards every adult until they find Love, God’s unconditional Love – in our hearts! A visitor to Ebenezer wrote a beautiful Poem about Ebenezer in January and I was touched – very touched to know God’s Love is working through us to change many lives here.

What a blessing! Our Baby Home is getting filled up very fast. This little baby was brought in a few hours after his birth when his Mother died after being transferred to the General Hospital from a nearby Village. I named him Moses. There are 14 babies now and our Toddler section is full to capacity.

Our last arrival Earnest was traumatized by a very unkind Aunt and Grandmother, who starved him most of the time and sent him to School unwashed and un-kept. He was a very sad 5 year old before coming here but now his life has changed so much we can…barely recognize him from the unhappy little boy he was!

Surely children need to be Loved deeply! All they ask for is a little attention and genuine Love. Our older kids are certainly not forgotten, we have an up and coming music band where there is much talent on display. Believe me they can’t wait for Sunday and they get better everyday. What a thrill! We are blessed to have Susan and Grayson helping us for 3 months from Canada, as you can only imagine – work here never ends!

About Freedomborn

My name is Anne although some call me Grannie Annie especially Children whom I share with in my Funday School . I live in Queensland Australia. I’m very much a People person believing we are all People of worth and unique, so I have much Joy in sharing with people personally and over the Internet. My main focus in life is my wonderful Friendship with Jesus Christ, without Him everything else would be meaningless, I have deep heartfelt thanks and appreciation that I'm a Spiritual Child of The King of Kings and I seek to share with others how truly wonderful that is with the hope they too will realize the same and be set free now.

your post reminds me of how we are told how Jesus healed lepers….but if you think about it…before he healed them, Jesus hugged them….in a time when it was custom for lepers to have to move off the road when someone approached – Jesus wanted us to feel loved before he even heals us…..

Very True P.P what you say and the reverse is also True, Jesus healed many and by His Miracles many came to believe in Him, but some didn’t even give Him Thanks and sadly it is the same today, they glorify Medicine and Doctors but their knowledge even if sometimes wrongly used are a gift from God, the same as Natural helps.

God intervenes Miraculously when it is needed as He did in my life and in many other peoples lives but He also works through earthly remedies, we need to remember all healing comes from Him and give Him the Thanks.

Yes it warms my heart too Love, to see the Children cared for and given unconditional Love but it is awesome that even though so many of the Children have Aids not one has died from it in the 11 years since they started this Ministry, Ranji’s husband is a Doctor who Trusts in God as he cares for the Children.
