Tonight my new Blogging friend danLrene – Work the Dream is going through a very sad time, her faithful furry friend Jack is close to dying but what encouraged me was that danLrene although very sad is remembering all the good times she has had with Jack. I promised danLrene earlier in the day to Post a story for her about spoilt dogs and was thinking of the one below. http://workthedream.wordpress.com/2012/03/28/wonder-dog-is-in-bad-shape/
When I received this e-mail Story I had Pod and Monty and so I used pictures that looked like them both. Pod my little girl was poisoned not long after I put this together, I remember the pain of not only loosing her but how she died although now I also remember the special little things that made her unable to be forgotten and she is close in my heart.
Lets remember danLrene and her family in our prayers.
My house would not look like a Day Care Center, toys everywhere…
All flat surfaces, clothing, furniture, and cars would be free of hair.
I could sit on the lounge and my bed the way I wanted, without taking into consideration how much space several furry bodies would need to get comfortable…
I would not be on a first-name basis with 5 Veterinarians, I reallyfeel like one of their family, I visit so often.
When the doorbell rang, it wouldn’t sound like a Kennel and I could get to the door without wading through fuzzy bodies who beat me there…
I could walk around the yard barefoot and in safety.
I’d look forward to spring and the rainy season instead of dreading ‘mud’season.
My house could be carpeted instead of tiled and laminated…
The most used words in my vocabulary would not be… out, sit, down, come, no, stay, and leave him/her/it Alone!
I would have money… and no guilt trips about going on a real Vacation and coming back when I was in the mood…
My house would not be cordoned off into zones with baby gates or barriers.
I could have a Shower without an Audience…
My pockets would not contain things like poop bags, water bottles treats and an extra leash.
Wash day would not include little furry bodies…
.
I would no longer have to spell the words…
B-A-L-L,
F-R-I-S-B-E- E, W-A-L-K, B-A-T-H, T-R-E-A-T, C-A-R, B-I-K-E, G-O,
R-I-D-E,
C-A-T.
I would not have as many leaves Inside my house as outside.
I would not look strangely at people who think having one dog/cat ties them down too much…
I would not have to answer the question ‘Why do you have animals?’ from people who have never enjoyed the closeness of animals, or been blessed by their loyalty, trust and appreciation…
I would be missing out on a lot of Happiness if I could not share my life with my four Legged Friends, I give thanks for them, they are a real blessing.

Found it. 🙂 Thank you for sharing my Jack with others. Prayer has brought him around and he is healing. I do believe it was poison and we are so fortunate. Love the blog. 🙂

Good danLrene, and I’m sure it was a comfort to you to know that many are with you in your troubles, wonderful news now you have more joy to share with Jack.
I did not know Pod had been poisoned and she was almost gone when I found her 5 minutes later she died of a massive haemorrhage from ratsack which is made from wolfram. She was not a young dog but the Vet told us after the autopsy that she would have lived more years as her organs were all good but it was not to be and then there was Petal and now Missy and of course Monty all have brought Happiness and continue to do so even those who have left us.

I would love to have a dog (a wool dog, rather than a hair dog) and look forward to the time when it will be possible, when we no longer travel as much.

Yes Angela, travel does present problems when we have animals but we take ours with us and we all enjoy our Holidays, although I visit my Mum and my family in Sydney and Ron goes away on golf trips with his brother or conventions alone, he wears many hats and of course there is his daughter and her family he cares for, but mostly we all go together.

We visit family quite a lot and taking a dog wouldn’t be a problem, except for fencing (or lack thereof) but since one son is in Perth and one in New York and one will soon be back in UK or Europe, taking a dog wouldn’t be possible.
I much prefer to drive myself whenever we holiday, but Myles now prefers coach tours and they wouldn’t take kindly to having a dog on board!

I can see your problem Angela but dogs are so smart at least that is what mine tell me, they could drive the bus for you .
Just a thought Love Annie.
