The Mouse Trap Story

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package.

What food might this contain? The mouse wondered

he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed

the warning: There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Mr.Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me.”   I cannot be bothered by it”

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, “There is a mousetrap inthe house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray.
“Be assured you are in my prayers but she didn’t take the time to pray.”

The mouse turned to the cow and said “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”

The cow said, “Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you,

but it’s no skin off my nose.”

So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house –like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.

The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught.

The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital  and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for

the soup’s main ingredient.

But his wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbours came to sit with her around the clock

To feed them, the farmer butchered

 the pig.

The farmer’s wife did not get well; she died.
So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack   in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time we hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn’t concern us,

We remember —

When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another

Let People know how important they are to you…

Each of us is a vital thread in another person’s tapestry…

Our lives are woven together for a good reason…
So One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a God given friend.

First posted in November 2011 for Jeanne who at that time was my new friend in The Lord, I always like to give a gift and Jeanne had shared a poem  about a  rat trap… http://womenswindow.com/2011/10/06/ode-to-a-rat-trap/

Ron and my Comments have been  updated but the rest remain the same as when posted as is our conviction, unless they are unloving or abusive but not  if they are just  in error according to Scripture being God’s Truth not our own understanding, if so we do not ignor or delete them, we correct with our own comment and allow them to respond not block them, this is how we Blog the Aussie way, which if done in Love  we believe is God’s way regardless of where we live and I’m thankful many other caring Christian Bloggers feel the same.

  1. Thank You for responding to my blog and topic on anti-social people. My major in college was Sociology and my minor was in Social Work. I also took some psychology courses as well. In some of my social work and psychology courses they covered this matter of antisocial disorders. It seems to be a major problem among many more people today, in our society and is more common than many people realize. It is also defined as a personality or character disorder. Evil people do exist unfortunately and they can be found everywhere, in families, the workplace and even in the church of all places.
I too am a Christian, a believer and committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. As it states in Proverbs to be careful of evil doers.
I love this story. I agree and do believe that we are our brothers and sisters keeper. We are all inter-connected and we are all called to care for one another, to encourage and support one another and to love one another. This story goes along the line of the parable Jesus gave of the good samaritan. Thank You! for sharing this story. It is a great inspiration and encouragement to me.
    God Bless!

    • Thank you for visiting Mike, I will call by tomorrow and read your replies to my comments, I don’t always receive them from WordPress. I also appreciate the positive focus of this message too, I share a lot of other peoples creativity in writing and if needed add the animation or I create Power points using their stories, it’s my way of saying thank you to them for freely sharing what they were given freely, I like to Reblog for the same reason..

I have also had extensive involvement with Secular Psychology Mike, which is often the training and focus of those who council in the Church too but I find that with God being our Creator who sustains us, He knows our needs and every problem we have and gives us guidelines in the Scriptures that work.

To be honest mostly Secular Psychology is focusing on the negative, your a rescuer if you care for others in need or your co-dependent if you remain married when the relationship has problems and at times in marriage conflict resolution you can be advised to Divorce or Separate when problems can’t be resolved by the formulas they promote. God tells us to focus on peoples strengths, to forgive and ask for forgiveness and seek Him for guidance and to ponder on the positive not the negative …

Philippians 4:6-8 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

A great lesson learned, Anne. We are not islands in ourselves; what we say and do has an effect on everyone around us and we are not to be INTENTIONALLY offensive or hurtful. James reminds us of our inability to tame that little organ called the tongue, but if Christ lives within us and we give Him complete control then…

Hi Sis I should do a Spotlight on your comments, your words are so full of Godly wisdom like Angela’s and my other True Blogging Friends. Yes if our intention is to hurt sadly we will also be hurt, holding onto bitterness and resentment is like making up some posion for those who hurt us and drinking it ourselves, it’s a cancer eating us away.

Love and hate cannot co- exist they are not in Unity, we can’t walk in Love if we carry an evil load, it will burden us and wear us down, yes at times in the flesh we will lug it around but as you shared Jesus our deliver will take it off our painful backs if we ask Him and fill us with His Love which is as Light as a feather and feels so wonderful that we soar high with Him.

Do we ingest the coffee or soak our beautiful feet in it? If ingesting, how many cups to be effective; if soaking, for how long? I know my wise older sisterwill have the answers I seek!

Excellent point! There is an infant close to our family that needs a bone marrow transplant to survive. They found a 99% match today, which is remarkable for the percentage to be that high. I’m thanking and Praising God for this young individual who does not know any of the family and is willing to step up to the plate. And for God to provide so high a match is Heavenly intervention magnified. 🙂
