A Cup Of Coffee

You may never look at a cup of coffee the same way again!

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her.  She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.  She was tired of fighting and struggling.  It seemed that as one problem was solved a new one arose…

Her mother took her to the kitchen.  She filled three pots with water.  In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans…

She let them sit and boil, without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.  She fished the carrots out.  She pulled the eggs out .  Then she poured out the coffee into a cup…

Turning to her daughter she asked, “Tell me what you see.”  “Carrots, eggs and coffee”, her daughter replied.  The mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots.  She did, and noted that they were soft.  She then asked her to take an egg and break it.  After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.  Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee.  The daughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma.

The daughter then asked, “What’s the point, mother?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity — boiling water — but each reacted differently…

The carrots went in strong, hard and unrelenting.  However, after being subjected to the boiling water, they softened and became weak…

The eggs had been fragile.  Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened…

The ground coffee beans were different, however.  After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water…

“Which are you?” she asked her daughter.  “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond?  Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?”…

So what is The Real way to Overcome Adversity in our Lives.

The Wonderful Truth is that we don’t have to go it alone because when we go through Adversity when Troubles and Worries and Fear overwhelm us when we start to feel like the Carrot or the Egg or even the Coffee bean that somehow says it’s all up to us to do the changing and and even though this may seem to be working at first it can leave a bitter after taste not only for us but for others…

Yet there is a way to change our fear, anguish, worry, confusion and all the crippling emotions that we experience…

Because although we may not be able to change the situation or the circumstances that are causing our heartbreak  there is some one who knocks at our hearts door who offers to carry our burdens for us and as we open the door through Repentance seeking His will and accepting with thankfulness and all that He has to offer, then He will give us His rest because He is our rest…

How do we thank our Lord and Saviour  Jesus Christ  by trusting Him and believing we are not alone and that He holds our hand and always understands and then as we place our lives into His keeping we do change as our flesh is put to death and then our colour reflects the Rainbow, because it is Jesus in us that radiates His Colours of Hope and they are clear and without blemish.

Matthew 11:28-30 – Revelation 3: 19-20 – Ezekiel 1:28

We remember it’s not what life throws at us that causes us to despair it’s the lie that there is no one who really cares.

It takes little effort to say I Love you, showing it makes it genuine…

Jesus showed it do we!

    • Hi Barb, a lot of my stories I have received by e-mail over the years but I adapt them by adding Pictures, Music and a Christian message like this one, mostly I don’t know who the Author is and on the Internet the story is often used by others without reference to the Author either but those who wrote it know and if it glorifies God and blesses others, that’s what it is all about.

With this one I was really challenged myself as you hear a lot that it’s up to us to change and yes it is in one way, we have to choose to change, turn from evil and do good but we can’t do it ourselves only God can change a hard heart and mold and shape us in Love but not with the fire of oppression, although He will bring good out of all our troubles but He does not cause us to suffer.

Thanks for visiting Barb , I’m pleased your blessed by the messages I share, as I am too by your poetry and many Pictures, which take me to places I have never been…Thank you.

Thought I would put this in for you

          One more cup of coffee

I sit writing, coffee by my side
There is silence in the room
The breathing of my dogs, distracts me
I sit writing, coffee by my side
My mind is in a blur
Confidence in my words, encourages me
I sit writing, coffee by my side
One more cup of coffee, to help me finish

Coffee is my lively hood for thing and during the day some times especially when I got to get ready for inspections

            • Thanks for your thoughts on coffee Barb, yes I enjoy a cuppa too, did you know it’s also used for medicinal purposes the same as tobacco, everything God made was very good but when in balance of course, Mankind has sure messed up the world, to say the least.

But if your still wondering if I’m real, I’m a bit like Coffee often is, strong, ( I never give up) able to keep you alert, ( I give you a nudge when needed) best enjoyed slowly without rushing (long comments) full of body (but loosing it ) a great aroma ( after a shower even better ) enjoyed with a bit of added sugar ( to make the medicine go down ) but there is a warning, I’m also addictive, ask my other friends! 🙄

Your so right about gifted people and so good when they use their gifts to glorify God.

I saw this on the reblog first and had to come over and check it out. So true! You can put two people in the same adversity, and they can come out differently depending on how they handle/think about/surrender the troubles. One example I often use is the difference in my sister and I. We grew up poor, the daughters of a Baptist preacher. I saw how God provided even in the midst of the poverty. My sister saw the poverty. That isn’t a put down of my sister, it’s just a different way of thinking of two very different people. God is awesome!

Dear Franny, thank you my dear Sister, we are all unique as you say and have differant gifts and talents but there is only one way and that is God’s way and unless we obey His guidelines which shows our Love for Him and then reach out to others with His Truth in words and actions which then shows our Love for them, we are forever in error and picking at the droppings in chooks pens instead of Soaring with Jesus.

It is not Love to allow someone to continue to sin and believe error, it would be like me having the cure for Cancer but just telling you to rug up with a blanket and have some Chicken soup, the Truth sets us free from bondage so that adversity and suffering does not stifle God’s Joy in our heart and our Trust remains in our God of Love.

I always look forward to the special treats you serve with your Cuppa as well… thanks for not being afraid to be you. …your Special.
