Horseback Riding

A young man  decides to try horseback riding, even though he has had no lessons or prior experience.

He mounts the horse unassisted and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the guy begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, he grabs for the horse’s mane but cannot seem to get a firm grip. He tries to throw his arms around the horse’s neck, but he slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider. Finally, giving up his tentative grip, he leaps away from the horse to try and throw himself to safety. Unfortunately, his foot has become entangled in the stirrup and he is now at the mercy of the horse’s pounding hooves as his head is battered against the ground, he is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to his great fortune……………. the Wal-Mart Manager sees him and shuts the horse off.

Thank you Anne for your kind words. No my husband lost his battle here on earth to the cancer. At least we have the redeeming knowledge that when the Angels took him home to be with God, he was healed and made whole again. Thank you Jesus!! ~Franny

I’m sorry Franny, I know how hard it is to Love someone deeply and not be able to talk to them one to one , to see their smile, to hold their hand, it is wonderful you will be united in Heaven but I know God understands those times you feel sad, like He does with all of us.

  3. Thanks for the laugh Anne!
I have a half-written blog about a horse rider – but not a funny one. One of these days I’ll get back to it.

Hi Franny God gave us the gift of Laughter and discernment to know what to laugh at, so much humour today makes a mockery out of what God intended it for . I hope your husband has fully recovered and you can continue to laugh together about those things that uplift not tear down.

Hi Dei , the secret is it was me on the horse, but what really made me mad was that the man from Wal- Mart switched off the horse before I got my $1.00 worth and he didn’t even give me a refund, sure it’s easy to say the customer is always right untill it’s pay time

Poor hard done by Annie 😦

I love your focus Franny, you express the need to enjoy the gift of Laughter that God has given us, very well, should we ever ignor or take lightly any gift that God blesses us with, even tears are a blessing, not that He causes them but they heal. We forever give thanks knowing He will work everything out for good and then His Joy in our heart will overflow.

Anne, Yes laughter is a gift from God and it can really help you through the bad times. We fought through 2 years of dealing with my husband fighting his battle with Brain Cancer. There were so many times that we would just laugh through the pain. It was totally out of our control, so we would just laugh at ourselves and each situation that would arise. I will never forget the look on the nurses face…. we had just been told of his diagnosis being terminal “Glioblastoma multiforme”. He reached over and pulled off his no-smoking patch. Guess I won’t be needing this… take me out for a smoke. We just laughed and laughed.
