When Your Hut’s On Fire

The only Survivor of a Shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited Island.

He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him.

Every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming…Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

One day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, with smoke rolling up to the sky.

He felt the worst had happened, and everything was lost.

He was stunned with disbelief, grief, and anger.
He cried out, Why did this happen to me?”
Early the next day, he was awakened by the sound of a ship approaching the island! It had come to rescue him!
How did you know I was here asked the weary man of his rescuers?
“We saw your smoke signal”, they replied.
The Moral of This Story
It’s easy to get discouraged when things are going bad, but we shouldn’t lose heart, because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of our pain and suffering although He does not cause bad things to Happen to us He does bring good out of whatever we go through when we Love Him.
Remember that the next time your hut seems to be burning to the ground.  It just may be a smoke signal that summons the Grace of God… Did He burn down the Hut …No but He used it for good, He made sure there was a boat to see the smoke.

yes Anne it`s like when you are young everything that is good for you should be good , and every thing bad happens is bad for you . As you get older you realise that sometimes the bad that happens can be good for you ,and vice versa.

Hi Love like you I don’t believe God causes us to suffer or brings hardship on us but uses everything for good in our lives. It is us who cause others and ourselves to suffer and we hurt God by doing so.

Accidents happen it is part of living in a fallen world I could have been killed the other day if the Scooter had kept going or someone else but it just stopped and no body was badly injured for that I thanked God for but I don’t blame Him for the accident, He did not cause my breaks to fail but He will bring good out of it as promised. Did He burn down the Hut …No but He used it for good, He made sure there was a boat to see the smoke.

Lamentations 3:33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

  3. I can look back on the ‘worst’ times in my life and praise God for them. No, I didn’t enjoy them at the time, but later I could see that they were the times that God used to “grow” me.

Hi Angela it’s so wonderful that God works all things for good but He doesn’t cause us to suffer or have hardship as the Scriptures tell us (see below ) He uses the Fruit of the Spirit to refine us and perfect us and so our evil flash nature will be put to death and we will be Born again of His seed 1 John 3:9

Lamentations 3: 33 For He doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

      Christian Love Anne.
