The Dragonfly

Once, in a little pond, in the muddy water under the lily pads, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles.

They lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions . Once in a while, sadness would come to the community when one of their fellow beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again.

They felt when this happened their friend was dead, gone forever.

Then, one day, one little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top.

When he reached the top and climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap.

As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into… A beautiful blue-tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying…

So, fly he did!

And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life  to what he had never known existed.

Then he remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead.

He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than end.

Yes in one sense being transformed is a personal choice, but it is not something we can do alone.  Jesus  came back to show us the way and in Him and through the Holy Spirit we are Born again of His seed and so radiate His beauty and Purity.

As we share in Him the wonder of being God’s redeemed Children, we have His Truth in out hearts. We are His Body  His hands, His feet , His voice and as we share His words of Hope with others, we soar on wings of Love and Joy.

Jesus  tells us to  freely give as we have freely received and what he whispers in our ears we are to shout or proclaim to the World.

How wonderful  that  many of God’s Loved ones do stand up for Jesus Christ and His Truth, even though  sometimes it means they are rejected,
 slanderd imprisoned or killed.

As  Jesus Christ lives His life in and through us we reflect His Love and His wonder, power and goodness and as we share the Gospel  in Unity and in the Power of the Holy Spirit, His Love is made known in this world by our words and deeds and whatever the cost nothing can compare to the greatness of His Love Orchestrating a Melody of Hope, Joy and Peace that Crescendo’s into Eternal Life as we rest in Him.

Music – God Forgave My Sin ( ‘Freely, freely, you have received )

God forgave my sin in Jesus’ name I’ve been born again in Jesus’ name
And in Jesus’ name I come to you To share His Love as He told me to
He said: ‘Freely, freely, you have received Freely, freely give Go in

My name, and because you believe Others will know that I live.’All power is given in Jesus’ name In earth and Heaven in Jesus’ name And in Jesus’ name I come to you To share His power as He told me to.

Yes Ron it is a good illustration of the metamorphis of change as a Christian, we too must go through this changing time before we can be Born again and sometimes it’s hard giving up the old things we are familiar with but it must be so if we are to be complete.

      Christian Love Anne
