God and the Spider…

A US marine was separated from his unit…The fighting had been intense and in the smoke and the crossfire he had lost touch with his Comrades.

511

Alone in the hills, he could hear enemy soldiers coming in his direction. Scrambling for cover, he found his way up a high ridge to several small caves in the rock. Quickly he crawled inside one of the caves. Although safe for the moment, he realized that once the enemy soldiers looking for him swept up the ridge, they would quickly search all the caves and he would be killed.511

As he waited, he prayed, “Lord, please protect me. I know , you Love me and I Trust you, and you want the very best for me. Amen.
511“After praying, he lay quietly listening to the enemy begin to draw close. He thought, “Well, I guess the Lord isn’t going to help me out of this one…

511
Then he saw a spider begin to build a web over the front of his cave.

511
As he watched, listening to the enemy searching for him all the while, the spider layered strand after strand of web across the opening of the cave.”Ha, he thought. “What I need is a brick wall and what the Lord has sent me is a spider web  God does have a sense of humour.”

511
As the enemy drew closer he watched from the darkness of  his hideout and could see them searching one cave after another. As they came to his, he got ready to make his last stand.

511

To his amazement, however, after glancing in the direction of his cave, they moved on. Suddenly, he realized that with the spider web over the entrance, his cave looked as if no one had entered for quite a while.

“Lord, forgive me,” prayed the young man. “I had forgotten that in You a spider’s web is stronger than a brick wall.”

511

We all face times of great trouble. When we do, it is so easy to forget the victories that God would work in our lives, sometimes in the most surprising ways. As the great Leader, Nehemiah, reminded the people of Israel when they faced the task of rebuilding Jerusalem.511

“In God we will have Success!”[Nehemiah 2:20]
Remember: Whatever is happening in your life, with God, a mere Spider’s web can become a brick wall of protection.

511

No matter what you have done wrong come to Him in Repentance and He will forgive you, then just believe He is with you always.

511
Speak and believe in the Truth of His name through Jesus Christ  His son, and you will see His great Power and Love in your life.

  3. I like this, Annie. I hate spiders, but I guess the Lord even uses them for those that trust Him.

    • Hi Dru, so True God can use anything in our lives even bad things for good but He does not cause them to happen to us, yes He created the Spiders etc but He doesn’t motivate them to bite us… could you imaging yourself causing a snake to bite one of your children so they would appreciate the First – Aid you gave them, I’m sure they appreciate your Love and care without you having to make them suffer just to make them better.

To be honest Dru like you spiders are not my best friends nor are mosquitoes or snakes etc yuk! but they are needed on the food chain, still I’m very sure I don’t like being on theirs or them thinking they can enjoy the food on my plate just because they feel like it even though they haven’t been invited to dinner.

      Christian Love Annie.

Yes what a Mighty, Loving God we do have and I agree we need to be reminded often, so many blame Him for our problems and claim He hurts us delibertly or willingly allows evil but the Scriptures tell us this is wrong and that the hardship we suffer in life does not come from Him but that He uses it for good in our lives when we Love Him and because we Love Him we obey Him.

So did you set this up with God Dei, just so I would have good gooey feelings for all of your crawly critters… well it worked…. God is Awesome! He can use anything in all creation to achieve His good purposes, no He does not cause bad things to happen to us, He is Love and Love can do no evil but He does bring good out of evil.

I think I will go catch myself some more Spiders and let them sleep over … their so cute!

By for now the new critter lover Annie.

P.S How about sharing a bit more about your Son, Dei on a post, so many of our young people go to war for us, they need to be acknowledged and commended.
