Butterfly Ministry

Butterfly Ministry of Nancy and Erik Hoiaas, Ocala, Florida .

After having had a close encounter of the God-kind, the Butterfly Ministry was initiated in the late 1980’s… during a cleansing time with the Holy Spirit, I was quickened to do something special… to introduce my precious Lord and Saviour to others and to also encourage others in the Body of Christ, especially during difficult times… I  worked part time in ICU at a Hospital in Austin, TX, and felt it necessary to give “something” to encourage those who were there waiting in ICU for relatives or friends… Out of a deep desire to share HOPE, I was given the story of the butterfly, the metamorphosis of which spoke so closely to what had happened in my life that so quickly brought my  from a life of utter despair and  to HOPE… I  sat down with a crochet hook, some thread and the “butterflies” were born… there was no pattern.. I just began to crochet and the pattern just fell into place… I  still have the first one the Lord helped me make… as I  made a few more, I  was impressed to share the “good news” with anyone who wanted to hear about God’s great Love for them… soon, a statement came forth and it went this way:

A Gift of God’s Love

The metamorphosis of a butterfly, from a caterpillar to a beautiful touch of color in flight, is likened to the transformation of a life in Christ Jesus. Out of one person’s dramatic change from a lonely, embittered soul to a joyful, Loving one, came these handmade butterflies – a small token of her gratitude and Love for the work that Jesus Christ was and is doing in her life (1Cor. 5:11-21).  Where there was only despair, there is now hope… where there was only hatred, there is now Love… where there was only emptiness inside, today it is filled with Christ… peace has replaced fear… acceptance has replaced rejection.

The butterfly is just one of our Loving Heavenly Father’s creations – a bright spot of His loveliness in a hurting world… the one you are being given is Lovingly hand crocheted and is an expression of His Love for each of us.  May it be a blessing to you and help you reflect on God’s great Love for you… so much Love that He gave His only Son for you:

For God so Loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16).

Each time you look at the butterfly, may you remember that Love.

I have posted this Ministry  again  as the original picture of the Butterflies were not the ones made by Nancy, these  ones shown  are and as you can see they have much detail and are very  beautiful  and come in many different colours and each one is original.  I have been able to bless many others by her gift of Love given Sacrificially.
