Woman of Value
How God Views Us
A Story is told of a primitive culture where Brides were purchased from their Parents using cattle as an exchange medium. An average Woman might merit the bride-price of two cows, an exceptional Woman
While a less desirable Woman’s family would receive one.
Into this Society, the Story goes, a rich and attractive Suitor came, looking for a Wife…
All the families paraded their eligible Daughters before him. Everyone was surprised when he announced his intention to negotiate with the family of a young Woman who was unattractive and clumsy.
“Perhaps it’s a bargain he’s after”, the Townspeople speculated, wondering if perhaps he would offer chickens instead of cows.
To everyone’s amazement, he offered the girl’s family six cows for their Daughter and quickly whisked her away for a long Honeymoon.
When they returned, months later, no one recognised the new Bride. Gone were the slumping shoulders and dull eyes. It was as if she were a new person, radiating beauty and confidence.
No, her Husband had not bought her beauty treatments or a facelift. He had begun their Relationship by showing her
in a tangible way that he thought she was important and valuable.
She had begun to act the part, to see herself as he saw her, and throughout the rest of her life she was viewed with awe by all her friends — a Six-cow Woman.
Story From – The Book- Marriage Made in Heaven.
God views us not just as a six-cow Woman (or Man), or even cows without number – we are His Priceless Treasure, more valuable than any number of cows. He delights in us because we are His Redeemed Children…
God sent His beloved one and only Son Jesus the Christ, a gift more precious than anything imaginable,
A gift that we need to receive in Repentance and with Thankfulness and Joy.
As we focus on Him and allow Him to be in control of our lives, we understand more our value and appreciate the beauty that God has placed in each one of us.
This gives us Godly Self-worth so there is no need for Worldly Self-esteem.

Here’s To Mother’s Everywhere
One afternoon a man came home from work to find total mayhem in his house. His three children were outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard. The door of his wife’s car was open, as was the front door to the house
Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the floor rug was thrown against one wall.
In the lounge room, the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel…
And the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing…
In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.
He quickly ran up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she may be ill, or that something serious had happened. He found her lounging in the bedroom, still curled up in the bed in her pyjamas, reading a novel.
A very good post. So many people look down on those of us who choose to be stay at home mom’s. My son is now raised but the jobs around the house are never done to this day.

Hi April and very True, a woman needs to be valued and she will experience fulfilment and feel content when she is committed to caring for her home and family and when she makes it her main priority in obedience to God, who created and equiped her for the role of Helpmate to her Husband and to care and nurture her Children and this is indeed an awesome career.
Thanks for your encouragement and sharing April, see you in the Garden

I love this Annie. I remember my mother telling me about a friend of her parents who never understood what a housewife does all day until she got sick and he had to take care of the kids and all the housework. Made him look at things a little differently! 😉

Yes I’m sure it did Dre, but I wonder how Mum would have gone let’s say if she had to drive a Truck Interstate and unload heavy furniture all day to pay the bills and make it possible for the family to be looked after properly. I’m sure as the story said both Mum and Dad are V.N.P… Very Needed People.
Thanks for sharing, see you in the Garden – Christian Love Annie.
