Mountain Moving Faith
Some people think Faith comes from Miracles, but others know Miracles also come from Faith.
A small Congregation in the foothills of the Great Smokies built a new Sanctuary ( simulated picture ) on a piece of land willed to them by a Church member. Ten days before the new Church was to open, the local building Inspector informed the Pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of the building. Until the Church doubled the size of the parking lot they would be unable to use the new Sanctuary.
Unfortunately, the Church with its undersized parking lot had used every inch of their land except for the mountain against which it had been built. In order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain out of the back yard.
Undaunted, the Pastor announced the next Sunday morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had “Mountain Moving Faith”. They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and painted before the scheduled opening Dedication Service the following week.
At the appointed time, two dozen of the Congregation’s members assembled for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours.
At ten o’clock the pastor said the final “Amen”. “We’ll open next Sunday as scheduled”, he assured everyone. “God has never let us down before, and I believe He will be faithful this time, too.”
The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock at his door. When he called “come in”, a rough-looking construction foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered.
“Excuse me Reverend. I’m from Acme Construction Company over in the next county. We’re building a huge new Shopping Mall over there and we need some fill dirt. Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the Church? We’ll pay for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can have it right away.
We can’t do anything else until we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly.”
The little Church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned — and there were far more members with “Mountain Moving Faith” on opening Sunday than there had been the previous week!
Would you have shown up for that prayer meeting?….. Faith comes from Miracles and Miracles come from Faith!
By Nancy L. Dorner, from “A Double Dose of God’s Vitamin C for the Spirit”
Jesus said in John 14:11 Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me also, or at least believe on the evidence of the Miracles themselves.
It’s sad how some like to explain away Miracles without any real confirmation, only what they believe but we remember even though someone once said Hope is the Denial of reality, Hope is always based in reality, although its reality is only seen by those who have Faith.
Faith sees the invisible, believes the unbelievable, and receives the impossible.

Sit back an enjoy a beautiful heart uplifting song - Miracles by Kenny Lattimore

This is awesome!
Yes it stopped my heart the first time I read this story T and also reminded me of a similar experience at a Church we were members of, we decided to build a Church, we use to Worship in a School Auditorium but our activities during the week like Craft and Play Group etc had no where big enough to meet. It was amazing that with very little resources we were able to build our Church, I shared more about this time with Tina below, it was indeed a very uplifting experience.

I call these “God Stories”, and I love them! I have many of them in my own life, and they are reminders that God is God! Angie
Hi Angie, thank you for visiting again and very True God is God and of the Impossiable He is Love.

Yes indeed T it is an awesome Story, God is always willing to help us when we ask.
Christian Love Anne.
I would have been there. God always comes through! Angie
You didn’t have to tell me that Angie, I know you would have been there, you have a heart of Love for God and His people and you are engraved on His hand, in other words you are deep in His heart and forever to remain.
Love you in The Lord – Anne.
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. (Mark 11:22-24 NIV84).
That’s a wonderful post. God bless you.
I pray for a Mountain Moving Faith
God bless us
Hi De Preacher thank you for visiting and for that wonderful reassurance in Scripture and yes we are greatly blessed and when we pray from our heart with the right motives in other words in the Spirit and He never has doubts, are prayers are answered, it is a promise and God is faithful, He always keeps His word.
Thank you for your encouragement which I also feel after visiting you.
Christian Love from us both – Anne.

That looks a LOT like the area I grew up – at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. I wonder where that church is. I love this story!!
Hi LubbyGirl, Wow no wonder this Story was on my mind yesterday and also confirmed on other Blogs, you came from there. To be honest I don’t know what Church it is, I just thought the picture fitted in with the Story, which I have had for many years.
Will be over to visit you later Sis, I noticed you have written a new Post.
Christian Love Anne.
Thanks Anne for this Story, like Jesus`s story of the mustard seed, faith it sure can move Mountains, thanks enjoyed it.
Blessings
Ron
Hi Love, yes that is all the Faith we need but to have Faith we have to live it, a small amount of Faith will move a Mountain but a large amount of Faith will know were to put it, that is why later the Deciples asked Jesus to incress their Faith and so did others. Jesus tells us we don’t have because we don’t ask or with the right motives or with all our heart.
As I shared with Tina below, this Story reminded me of our Church at Beerwah when we built it, Wow we sure saw God’s hand on it’s start and compleation didn’t we.
Christian Love, your Anne.
How encouraging to hear how God can move our mountains!
Hi Tina and thank you again for your encouragement, it is so good I agree to know that our God is the God of the impossible. We had a similar experience at a Church we were members of, we decided to build a Church, we use to Worship in a School Auditorium but our activities during the week like Craft and Play Group etc had no where big enough to meet. It was amazing that with very little resources we were able to build our Church. At the time there was a Ministry which Christian Builders were part of and they offered to build it for free, we just paid for the material and helped with the labour and also like this story people came to help, offering their Trucks and earth moving equipment and everyone in the Church was involved, the woman made Lunches and morning and afternoon teas and the men helped with the Labour, Ron even did all the French polishing on the woodwork… our God is indeed Awesome!
