 Becoming Who You Were Meant To Be

 

 One day, a boy climbing in the mountains found an Eagle’s nest with an egg in it. When he got home, he put it under a hen along with her other eggs.

When the Eagle hatched, he thought he was a Chicken. He learned Chicken behaviour and scratched in the Chicken yard with his ‘siblings’.

He didn’t know any better.

Sometimes he felt strange stirrings within himself, but he didn’t know what to do with them, so he ignored or suppressed them.

After all, if he was a Chicken, he should behave like a Chicken.

One day, an Eagle flew over the Chicken yard and the Eagle looked up and saw him. In that moment, he realized he wanted to be like that Eagle, to fly high, to go to the mountain peaks he saw in the distance. As he spread his wings,

He suddenly understood that he was like that Eagle…

Though he’d never flown before, he posessed the instinct and capabilities.

At first he flew unsteadily, then with greater power and control. Finally, as he soared, he became the creature that God had made him to be.

‘When we realise in our hearts we have been leading only half a life, the other half is going to reach out to us until we seek the Lord to empower us to Live it.

We were made by God and for God.

Until we understand what He has planed for us and what He has equiped us for we will not feel fufilled or complete.

God wants our Love and Friendship without Him in our life it is without real meaning or purpose.

It’s only in Jesus Christ that we discover our purpose and our calling.

 Isaiah 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and  not faint. (KJV)

The Donkey

 

 

One day a Farmer’s Donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours and the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, although sad, he decided  that  he could not let him suffer and as the well was also dry the kindest thing to do for the donkey was to fill it in. 

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.

 

At first, the donkey cried horribly, everyone felt sorry for the Donkey but could see no other way to help it not suffer.

 

Then, to everyone’s amazement he  quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw…

With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing…

 

He would shake it off and take a step up.

So the farmer’s neighbours quickly continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, and were  excited to see him shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon,  the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

 

Sometimes in life we feel like dirt is being shovelled on us all kinds of dirt…

 

The answer to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.

 

Each of our troubles can be a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! by shaking  it off and taking a step up.

 

Remember the Seven simple rules to be at Peace and to know Love, Wisdom, Joy, Hope and Rest…

Put God first in your heart and life.

 

Turn from evil and do good.

 

Free your Heart from hatred – Forgive and be forgiven.

Free your mind from worries – Most never happen.

Live simply and appreciate and be thankful for what you have.

Give more and Expect less.

Pray and Expect good results.

The Awesome Ebb and Flow

Across the sun soaked glistening sand the foaming water flows running in and drawing out with the ebb and flow,currents swirl and the water peaks tossing to and fro breaking gently upon the shore with shells and spore, they bring new life with the sweeping tide and the wonder of nature in them does reside, leaving dampness in its wake as it draws heat from the sand the water then encases the beauty of the land.

 The Creator gives and takes away renewing life in grand display, providing needs and bringing Joy encasing the heart in Peace and Rest enriching each life with His very best, this is the promise that continually flows given in Love to those The Son knows.

The Joy of those who walk by His side will not abate with the rising tide, for worries and fear are taken away as His majestic Love is in full display resolving the perils as they ebb and flow leaving His Peace that encases the soul offering Hope for each day as it flows continually on its way.

 This majestic cycle that continually flows encourages the heart and renews the soul, for these tides of life never cease until the time has reached its peak, Responding gently in quietness and rest proclaiming the beauty of a life that is blessed.

 The Lord of nature the Creator of all blesses His children in one accord, for us who have responded to His call, Touching our hearts and giving anew the wonder of life for eternity through.

 This is the awesome ebb and flow sustained by His power and given to us called by His name released from our shame, then trusting as we are blessed and knowing the Lord’s rest.

In Memory of our Missy

 

Sadly Missy our Jack Russel died yesterday Morning at 1 o’clock, we are not sure why, it may have been  a tick but we think it was her heart, she was about 10 years old or more, being a stray we were never sure.

 

She died peacefully close to me and did not suffer,  unfortunately  Rainbow Beach’s  closest Vet  is over 50 klms away and was closed so we could not get her any help. Although we are very sad as we both Loved her as part of our family, we do feel God’s comforting arms He showed us He was close at the beginning of our Holiday, even though we did not understand at the time.

 

Monty is looking for Missy and is not his playful self but is ok, the man next door Bruno dug a grave for Missy and even planted shrubs, it looks so beautiful with the Palm trees either side and two toned green and purple shrubs all around, he was so kind and caring and a complete stranger until Ron asked to borrow a spade… God is so good.

We have decided to stay and enjoy the rest of our Holidays, and will be back by Wednesday, we are having a picnic tomorrow on the Beach, I hope to Post the poem I promised and also answer our comments, thank you to those who shared or clicked on.

Hi from Rainbow Beach

 

 

 

We are enjoying a relaxing time on our holidays and feel very refreshed, we have had some rain but it has mostly been sunny, yet not warm enough for  swimming but we have enjoyed the beauty of the Ocean and the quietness and peacefulness of the town and beach.

 

I have  limited access to the Internet as we are in a black spot in the Unit where we are staying but I enjoy sitting close to the beach each day where thankfully I can connect and catch up with some blogging while Ron walks the dogs. It’s a beautiful experience as I read your posts to hear the waves breaking on the sand in the background, it reminds me of a poem I wrote about the Ocean, I will try to share it with you tomorrow as I hope to be able to read and comment on a few more of your Blogs today and also before we return home.  

 

 

Our T.V connection is also not the best it comes and goes, so Ron missed the big footy match but we have had fun playing board games especially with Yatzee which we have played for many years… Wow did we have an amazing result with the first game we played, we were so surprised when we added up our scores we just had to check them again  but the result was  the same,  both our scores added up to 1776 now we don’t just play one column or game at a time but the whole six so  it is incredible that our scores matched, does this mean anything, well at least we were both winners, no losers a great result don’t you think  but for us it’s all just fun win or lose, we risk nothing.

 

 

 

 

 

 But it reminded  me that with God in control  we have no doubt of the outcome and we risk nothing if we Trust in Him as our Lord and Saviour and there are no losers but not so if  He is rejected then there are only losers. 

 

We are missing you all and  praying for you and also for those we don’t know personally but who click onto our Blog, God knows each one of you and Loves you greatly, of that we don’t have to doubt, Jesus died for everyone in the world.  

 

I have been reflecting on my Blogging since I started in  America last year, yes I have had some bad times with Hackers, abuse, slander and back biting, making it necessary for Ron to join me but this has turned out to be a  blessing as he has also enjoyed meeting you and we both have had the Joy of sharing our Love for the Lord with you

 

Yes there has been some differences in what we and some of you believe but God will resolve them if we Trust Him to do so and He will confirm His Truth in our hearts and in Scripture… seek ye first the Kingdom of God, knowing Him as our God of Love and having this reality in our hearts opens up a floodgate of blessings.

For Bad Joke Lovers

The Bacon Tree

 

Two Mexicans are stuck in the desert after crossing

 into the United States , wandering aimlessly and starving. They are about to just lie down and wait for death, when all of a sudden Luis says………

“Hey Pepe, do you smell what I smell.  Ees bacon,

 I theenk.”

“Si, Luis, eet sure smells like bacon. “

With renewed hope they struggle up the next sand dune, & there, in the distance, is a tree loaded with bacon.

There’s raw bacon, there’s fried bacon, back bacon, double smoked bacon … every imaginable kind

of cured pork.

“Pepe, Pepe, we ees saved.  Ees a Bacon Tree.”

“Luis, maybe ees a meerage?  We ees in the desert don’t  forget.”

“Pepe, since when deed you ever hear of  a meerage that smell like bacon…ees no meerage, ees a bacon tree.”

And with that, Luis staggers towards the tree. 

 He gets to within 5 metres, Pepe crawling close behind, when suddenly a machine gun opens up, and Luis drops like a wet sock.  Mortally wounded, he warns Pepe with his dying breath,

“Pepe… go back man, you was right, ees not a Bacon Tree!”

“Luis, Luis mi amigo… what ees it? “

“Pepe.. ees not a Bacon tree.  Ees

Ees a  “Ham bush….” 

 

 And of course you tried to do the accent didn’t you… I know you did I got caught too! …don’t you just love bad jokes.

We are Off !

No we are not past our use by date…. in a few days we leave for our Holidays, Wow we can hardly wait Rainbow Beach is such a beautiful place.

 

 

 

We will be back at the end of May and yes we will miss you all but we are looking  forward to some rest and quality time together. I think Ron and I have spent  more time talking on the Blog then in person lately but we do enjoy Blogging together, although Ron’s sense of humour catches me off guard at times but then that adds to the fun, even if it is also at times very deep and meaningful or serious.

 

For those who didn’t see the Post on our destination, the link is below, I hope to keep in touch in a limited way perhaps even Post but that will depend on my Lap top,  its a bit prehistoric to say the least but it just might last the distance, we will see, it’s defiantly past it’s use by date.
