Becoming Who You Were Meant To Be

One day, a boy climbing in the mountains found an Eagle’s nest with an egg in it. When he got home, he put it under a hen along with her other eggs.

Chickens 4When the Eagle hatched, he thought he was a Chicken. He learned Chicken behaviour and scratched in the Chicken yard with his ‘siblings’, he didn’t know any better.

Sometimes he felt strange stirrings within himself, but he didn’t know what to do with them, so he ignored or suppressed them.

After all, if he was a Chicken, he should behave like a Chicken.

One day, an Eagle flew over the Chicken yard and the Eagle looked up and saw him. In that moment, he realized he wanted to be like that Eagle, to fly high, to go to the mountain peaks he saw in the distance. As he spread his wings, he suddenly understood that he was like that Eagle…

Though he’d never flown before, he possessed the instinct and capabilities.
At first he flew unsteadily, then with greater power and control.

Finally, as he soared, he became the creature that God had made him to be.

‘When we realise in our hearts we have been leading only half a life, the other half is going to reach out to us until we seek the Lord to empower us to Live it.

We were made by God and for God.

Until we understand what He has planed for us and what He has equipped us for we will not feel fulfilled or complete.

God wants our Love and Friendship without Him in our life it is without real meaning or purpose.

It’s only in Jesus Christ that we discover our purpose and our calling.

Isaiah 40: 31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

Love You Daddy Update…..

Amazingly there were even more Hugs from God after I  shared about the other ones  with you on my Post “Love You Daddy” see link below …..Not long after they happened I told  Ron and some of my friends about them and also  a few of my Blogging friends T and Pastor Joe but I  felt you may also be blessed by my sharing them with you too.

 Hugs -  http://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2014/06/29/love-you-daddy/

Mobility Scooter

Yes  God hugged me again, it was  the next day which  was not good as far as unexpected or unwanted events, I had two accidents on my Scooter and an earache, I prayed about the painful ear as I was driving along and it disappeared, No not the ear or the Scooter, just the pain. Lol

Thankfully with the first accident I wasn’t hurt although a bit shook up and also very embarrassed … When I was shopping my wheel turned the wrong way and I went into a stand that was displaying lots of  packets of seed they flew everywhere and yes I was feeling a bit seedy afterwards.

But the second accident I hurt my arm and wrist when my Scooter hit a cement ledge that I hadn’t seen. There was agonizing pain and I wasn’t sure how I was going to get home because it was the hand I use to accelerate, so I apologized to God for once more having to ask for His help but yes He Hugged me again and there was no more pain, so I was able to drive home.

I know God did not cause these problems, life happens including  accidents, intense pain, others  hurting us,  aging, suffering, sickness and death and most pain when not needed as a physical warning or in Childbirth came because of the fall and not by God’s will. He does not do evil even to bring good out of it as He tells us in Scripture, or to teach us and also not to  punish us but He does work all things for good in our lives because we Love Him and because we Love Him, we obey Him.

God uses many  tools to heal us, He  Loves us greatly and it’s not His will we suffer and so He provides healing.  For me as I have shared before, I mostly have pain relief with His Balm but have been Miraculously healed too as others have been throughout the years,  He does not stop caring.  With  you  He may use another tool but He also gives us His strength to endure whatever we are afflicted with and if needed  will heal us Miraculously when there is no other way or when it’s most needed,  all good things come from Him, as the Scriptures confirm.  Satan can’t  do good including Heal anyone, although he may use tricks, allusion and lies so it seems he has and  even when he comes  as an Angel of Light it’s  only lies and deception he propagates  through his followers.

I haven’t done anything to deserve all these wonderful Hugs from our Heavenly Daddy and also I wish I had known before I could just ask for His Hugs as I did this time but it’s great to know now that when I ask in Faith I can have assurance that He will answer according to His will, which is always for good.

I Love you  Daddy is a message that has really  touched my heart and yet I feel sadness too that I did not know my earthly daddy very well but I do have a very special memory of him that I know was Heaven sent…

When a Child Cares…..

Mason 5 years old

Today I would like to share with you a wonderful True life Story about Mason Reynolds, a young boy with a caring heart.

Recently I had lunch with my friend Lenore Burton and as we were enjoying being together again, she shared about Mason, she had met him when he was four, at the time Richard her husband and Lenore as they often do, were seeking to find Supporters for the needy Children in Zambia, (see links below ) Mason seeing the pictures of the Children asked about them, Lenore explained so he could understand that they were Children who had very little and needed to be cared for.

Friends of Ebenezer- http://friendsofebenezeraustralia.com.au/

Blog link-  http://freedomborn.wordpress.com/2011/11/08/friends-of-ebenezer/

Picture and Confirmation- http://www.rangenews.com.au/news/masons-selfless-act-of-kindness/1488308/

Not long after on Mason’s 5th Birthday he said to his Parents that he had lots of toys, so could people give the money they would spend for his presents to the Children in Zambia and Mason has continued to request this every year since, he is now 7 years old.

No wonder God asks us to become like Children, yes so we can depend and Trust in Him but also to be able to show genuine Love as they often do.

Proverbs 31:9 Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Lenore and Richard and other Supporters through their Ministry called Friends of Ebenezer, help Ranji and her husband Nage, a Doctor and their Volunteers to care for Children in their Orphanage, School and Community in Livingstone, Zambia. They provide what is needed including Education so when the Children are Adults they can find work and provide for their own families and others in need, they also teach them how to grow fruit and vegetables and to care for Livestock and they support the Children’s Parents so they can care for them in their own homes but even more importantly they share with the Children how to Love Jesus and others.

Psalm 140:12-13 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor. Surely the Righteous shall give Thanks unto thy Name: the upright shall dwell in Thy presence.

Below is some links that explain further the wonderful work for the Lord they do in helping these Children to recover from the hurt they have suffered and to provide for their needs and believe me it’s all about Love!

10 Attributes of God

Freedomborn ... Aussie Christian Focus:

A great message Pastor Joe and it’s very True, when we are sharing about our Awesome God I agree, how can we find enough adjectives to describe His greatness but we do find some in Scripture that are very much the reality of His Love and His Nature, He is Love and Jesus is the image of Him.

1 Corinthians 13:4 -8a Love is Patient, Love is Kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always Protects, always Trusts, always Hopes, always Perseveres, Love never fails.

Galatians 5:20-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is Love, Joy, Peace, Forbearance, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control. Against such things there is no law.

Colossians 1:15 -17 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

attributes_of_godOur theology about God is rooted and grounded solely in Scripture. All we can ever know about God is what He has chosen to disclose to us. What, then, does God reveal to us about Himself? Here are 10 things God tells us in Scripture.

1. He is the only true God. The Scripture is clear, there is only one true and living God: “I am the Lord, there is no other; there is no God but Me” (Isa. 45:5). As Christians, we are monotheistic, that is, we believe there is only one God. Polytheism believes in many gods. Pantheism believes god is in everything and everything is god. Atheism says there is no God, but biblical theism says there is only one God and there is no other god beside Him. Our God is unique. The Bible tells us He is a person. He is intelligent, knowable…

Butterfly Wisdom…..

Monarch Butterfly
SDAn old Story with a New Focus…..SDA man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther. So the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the
remaining bit of the cocoon.

The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body, and small, shriveled wings. He continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that at any moment the wings would expand to support the body, which would contract in time.

Neither happened.

In fact the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings.

It was never able to fly.

He did not understand that in his well-intentioned kindness he had changed the order of things. He was unaware that the restricted cocoon and the struggle required to get through the tiny opening was needed to force fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved the freedom from the cocoon.

Story Author unknown – Below is adapted as per Scripture …..

God’s blueprint in Creation always has a purpose and it’s always for good and it is the same in the lives of those who Love Him.Of course we are not really Butterflies,  they don’t even have the same pain senses that we have but I like this allegory because  it shows we can escape the old sinful life that we had before which kept us in darkness and which caused us to suffer because of our sin, Jesus is The Key and He tells us how we are to do this in Scripture and He has set us free so we can.

Psalm 9:8-10 And He shall judge the world in righteousness, He shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And they that know thy Name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

Struggle is part of  a messed up world, Satan puts us to the test, we reap what we sow or others hurt us.

Lamentations 3: 33 For God doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the Children of men.

We also need to  be perfected in Love by  putting our evil flesh nature to death through the empowering of The Holy Spirit as we  choose to walk in Love which is The Fruit of the Spirit.  This means we need to choose to do so even though we may want to take the wide easy road which has no commitment to Love God or others  but it will leave us crippled. If we choose God’s guidelines we can be assured that we never walk alone.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”

Overcoming obstacles with the Lord’s strength in us, makes us strong not of ourselves but in His Love that offers Hope to see us through. We do not walk alone unless we choose to which means we will never fly …..

Because we can never fly alone.I needed Love…..I realised just how much I was Loved…..I encountered problems to solve and asked for God’s wisdom and I received it and I thank Him  for keeping His promise.

I needed strength…..I experienced life’s difficulties and so I asked for strength to overcome and He gave it to me eternally in Jesus Christ.

I had material needs…..I was given opportunities to work and received blessings to enjoy and share.

I needed courage…..I was given Strength to overcome danger.

I needed Compassion…..I was given friends and met troubled people who I could offer Help to and they  were there for me too and Jesus never left my side.

I needed encouragement …..I uplifted others in Prayer and I was encouraged by their growth and others did the same for me.

I needed to be blessed by others…..I was given opportunities to do good and in so doing I was blessed too.

I received everything I needed and also my Godly heart desires.

Romans 8:28.And we know that in all things and always God works for the good of those who Love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Jeremiah 29 :11-12 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a Hope.

Psalm 37:4-5  Delight thyself also in the LORD and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD Trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.

I Posted this message again this time for T  as we have been sharing about Butterflies, to Thank her,  she is a Special Blogging Friend and  I have also been very blessed by her Love for Children in need, T may not have  known Jesus for a long time as some have but He has always known her and T faithfully chooses now to walk in His Love as she  reaches out helping and seeking help for the Children cared for by Compassion.

James 1:27 Pure religion undefiled before God and the Father, is to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself/herself unspotted from the world.
Matthew 5:15-17 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your Light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven.

Alissa’s Special Picnic…..

Alissa and children 2After sending Anne some photos of my trips to Nepal which were taken when I visited all my  Children in The  Sunshine Children’s Home, Anne asked me to share with you  about one of our much cherished times, a special Picnic, which I’m very happy to be able to do.

Allisa and ChildrenIn the middle of the summer months in Nepal it gets sweltering hot in Kathmandu, so as a treat we took the children and the two live in domestic Staff, who have become very fondly a part of this big beautiful family, on an outing to the Botanical Gardens in the south of the Kathmandu Valley.

Allisa and Carers

Although it isn’t the norm in Nepal to value and accept the workers, the children are being taught to love and respect everyone and these two caring dedicated young women who are now also learning English, were delighted to join us.

Carer and child

Thanks to all those who gave for their wonderful donations for the Children, including the clothes and toys, which I have been able to squeeze in with the luggage on my trips to be with them in Nepal, these made it possible for everyone to be dressed smartly for the special occasion and the girls took their dolls and the younger boys their favourite teddies.

Grannie Annies boys

Anne, affectionately known to the children as Grannie Annie, has brought such joy to their little hearts, Anne  helps to support the children as others kindly do too but just like a Grannie, gives then Treats too, this time it was to buy all the girls the loveliest dolls for their Birthdays.

Once through the gates and what seemed a long way from the dust and pollution of Kathmandu, the green paradise was being pleasantly enjoyed by us all. Adults and older children carried along with them a portion of the carefully prepared picnic foods and drinks.

Before one could even make a plan, the ecstatic brood were eagerly off in all different directions, exploring new cobbled pathways, fresh little waterfalls and rock -pools, then up amongst the rose gardens.

Sunshine Picnic June 2014There was a huge sigh of relief to be felt when they all came together to relax on a large grassed area and put on their party hats to enjoy our picnic lunch.

Boys will be BoysThen in what seemed like a matter of no time, once again the children were excitedly hanging from trees and swinging from vines, running up and down slopes and in circles around where we sat.

As the happy group moved from place to place there seemed to be a whole new set of surroundings which entertained them until when as late as possible, we made our way back to the bus. As we were rocked up and down on the bumpy narrow roads descending through quaint mountain villages back to home in Kathmandu, completely exhausted, happily contented, smiling little faces fell asleep, whilst others sang about one of the best days of their young lives.

Blessings to you all – Alissa

thanks3Thank you for sharing about your wonderful Picnic with us Alissa, and for your appreciation of my support, I Love being the Children’s Grannie Annie and it gives me Joy knowing I’m part of their lives. But how very blessed they are to have you as their Aussie Mum, you are indeed a very special person Alissa and I give heartfelt thanks that we met and for the opportunity to share with you in giving these very needy Children a chance to enjoy their Childhood and for them to know that Jesus Loves them all greatly.

Christian Love – Always from both of us – Anne.

Never Underestimate a Golfer!

golf ball and club

It’s that time of year again when Ron and his brother Cliff leave for their Golf and Snooker Holiday, something they look forward to every year and without doubt they have a great time.

I thought once again I would put together a humorous Post for them, hoping maybe they will take me this time, it seems just like a football that little golf ball causes a lot of emotion, maybe I’ll find out why!

Hmmmm I will have to see if Ron agrees to the idea in his comment, if you don’t hear from me next week, you’ll know his answer, if you do hear, you won’t hear from Ron…. well at least for a couple of weeks.

Golf 008
Never Underestimate a Golfer!

Ron brings Cliff to play golf with a couple of his buddies to complete a foursome.

His buddies asks him if his friend can play, Ron says that Cliff is very good.

bush - golfCliff hits the ball on the first hole into the bush, so Ron’s buddies look at Ron and say; you said He was a good golfer.

Ron says yes, just watch him play.

They see the ball come out of the bush on the green, Cliff takes two putts and makes a par.

GOLF LAKE 1On the second hole par 3, Cliff hits the ball in the lake, the two buddies look at Ron again and say  “you said this guy was good”

Water- ballRon replies that Cliff is a great player.

So Cliff walks into the lake, 3 minutes later and they can’t see him.

hand in water

All of a sudden they see a hand come out of the water, they tell Ron to dive into the lake to get Cliff out, he’s drowning.

Ron replies “No, that means he wants a 5 iron”.

Love you Daddy…..

Freedomborn ... Aussie Christian Focus:

I don’t very often Reblog my own Posts but I had asked God yesterday Morning after being upset again with Computer and Blog problems, for a Hug and Wow did He Hug me!

Not long after when in pain and not being able to reach His healing Balm or  even reach the phone, I was very close to screaming with the pain being so intense, instead I prayed for God’s help and put my hand on the painful part of my leg, caused because of my arthritic foot, the pain disappeared instantly and has not come back.

This morning He gave me another Hug … Due to an accident years ago, I suffer at times with very sore eyes, they are also aggravated by needed medication and  when reading small print on Blogs, glasses don’t help, I had prayed about this and asked others to pray too. T a Blogging friend because of some other problems, shared with me how to enlarge the font with may keypad, something I didn’t know before, my eyes are not sore at all and yet I have been reading and commenting all afternoon, how amazing that God brings good out of bad.

Than  about an hour ago through a Blogger liking the  message I Love you  Daddy , I read it again and it really impacted me and touched my heart, I think you will realise why when you read it.

Wow when God gives us a Hug it is never a small one!
